The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I managed to change the channel off of a concert with 32 seconds left to midnight. My wife was already asleep and the bottle of champagne is still in the fridge...

Too old is when you're asleep hours before midnight

We had a small party at my house. Chris made it over. Wasn't major, but I wanted a party for our first year in our house.

Happy New Year. Mine started off with my car on jackstands, waiting to get the right front brake pads--temporarily to last through the winter. Pics will be up in my build thread shortly...

I just went and got the stock pads for my speed3, the original pads lasted 66k. I got them from Mazdaspeedmotorsports.com they had the best price that I could find.

just a heads up, next time anyone wants to work on their car, hit up corey. he will bring an arm for wrenching, a plate of rice krispie treats, a bag of pixy stix, milk duds, kit kats, and heath bars. cheers

Lol, Had a nice little sugar high to help torque or those crazy bolts. Glad I could lend a hand and help out a little. Hopefully she runs well for you.
Hopefully everyone hada safe New Year's. We had our best yet, that's for sure. Good Times!

My wife does too, every night. lol

I asked her if she's going to pass it down to our kid, and she selfishly replied with a stern "HELL NO...we'll have my mom make a new one for him/her!!"

my 4 yr old has taken over my blanket...i often steal it from her when she's asleep :D i'm so mean...but i did buy her a pink one just like mine, but she doesn't want that one :(

anyone try sam adams chocolate bock? Had some for the first time today, it's tasty to say the least.

Indeed I have. It's quite good. The Fireside Nut Brown is good as well.

So I just caught up on this thread from all the days I was relaxing and not coming on here.

Kevin - VW diesel cars pull 50 mpg no problem, and there are tuning solutions to possibly maximize the yield as well. Keep those in mind. Plus, everyone that I have talked to who have driven 2's have reported higher mileage than what the EPA estimated. Regular 2's putting out 40+ mpg. Not a bad and cost-effective route to go.

Pablo - Videos from our Steel Panther show have popped up on Youtube, including "Party All Day (F**k All Night)" when the girl jumped on stage. I'd link but YT is blocked at work.

I need to run enough events this year to actually become part of their program. What is it? Two sanctioned events? I'll probably try to hit up two autocrosses or something just so I can get the discount. That is a good idea, though, thanks for the tip!

you might be able to order stuff through tripoint at a discount...don't quote me on that, though

I was holding off on signing up because of that, but marc told me you can sign up and say you're building the car (can't compete if it's being built...)

still haven't done that though

pffff suckers...

you scored 80.5%

Well done! Your chances of surviving a zombie apocalypse are better than average! Don't get too cocky, though. Remember, the undead never sleep...

I have tried signing up for that and they are still verifing my account and it still won't me even log in. That was back in the early spring of last year. I have tried e-mailing them in the past and still nothing.

Awesome! With my lack of medicine knowledge and being to nice to others not infected I think I did all right, but don't steal my s*** or threaten me "I F#$$ING KILL YOU!" :)

As far as Mazdaspeed parts program, you can sign up for the program stating that you are building a car. If you have signed up, I ca follow up with head of the program, as I know him on a personal basis. I would actually re-apply and send in your times from the two events and will speak with Steve Sanders. For those who are going through the build process, sign up and I'll follow with him as well.
