The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

lol thats funny i was looking at that in my ad that i received today. with the coupon itsonly 60!

back to the basic car vs luxury electronics debate...

I loved my protege for being basic. Sure, it had power locks and windows, but the stereo was easy to replace (nice 2 din stock stereo... no silly big dash kit necessary), the throttle was not electronic (had better feel) and there was less to go wrong.

It really was the best basic interior i know. Clean and simple.

Now, I love my Mazda6 for some of the things it has.... trip computer and blue tooth. I don't need a navigation system. A dvd player would be nice, but obviously i would just go aftermarket.

Power seats are nice, but not a necessity. I am actually annoyed by my wifes automatic climate control. Always has the a/c on. Automatic wipers? lol, no thanks. Push button start? Nope, i like to have my keys out of my pocket (i have too many).

So, I like it simple. Plus, a basic car will not have nice things that you will replace. The stock wheels can be winter wheels and the cheap radio is going to go right away anyways.

When I bougsht my Jack I had the 20% coupon and she said it doesn't apply to jacks. I'm not sure if that three-toothed hilly-billy was just making stuff up or what but I had to pay full price for mine. Check the fine print to be sure.

^Yes, for the small 1.5 alu racing jack, AJ, but Evan got a different jack and tried to use the 20% coupon and she wouldn't let him.

Here's the one I bought. It's got the 2-3/4" saddle height. It's not lightweight but I rarely even move my jack from the garage so I didn't mind. Marc said he's got like 3 or 4 of those aluminum jacks. Haha

That looks like a friggin huge camper in the background.

Yea, we get some BIG ones! We do work for All Seasons RV up in Strongsville or Parma or somewhere up there.

Our shop is 2 buildings; the main body shop is where i work, and a few years ago they bought the machine shop that was behind us. So now it's a 25,000 sqft storage area, and a couple guys work on the one side of it. They get the RV's because....they fit up there. lol

So what's the story with that Miata?

BTW, foam taped to a bucket sounds like a good idea for a cheap shop chair. I might steal that :D

I think it just got a new fender and the door repaired. He had to take the door off to repair the inner shell too, so he just sent the new fender and door over to paint, instead of having to mask the whole car off.

And I grant you permission to use Josh's custom shop chair. I've actually had that thing for over 5 years now. Why pay all that money for a name? haha
