The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Corey I would be getting to the bottom of the bracket breakage. Unless it is common on proteges. Even still I wouldn't think it is that common that it would happen every other time you autocross. That would be rediculous!

With a big sway bar, it's not uncommon. Lube lube lube. The bushing binds up and pops the bracket.

^It was only a week old and was lubed more than most oiled pornstarz

Thanks guys!!

And Adam, she gave me the prettiest ring in the world. I felt like a princess. Oh joy!

Everything was planned and we're looking to have the wedding sometime in the next year to two years. Then, no damn kids for a couple years at least while we have fun and travel! Oh yea!!

That was our plan too....

car goes into the shop tomorrow so it'll be nice and pretty for the cookout

Work was kind of slow at the Goodyear shop today, so me and another guy decided it was time to prank one of our service writers who always leaves his POS Cavalier unlocked. So we ran a jumper wire from his brake switch to his horn so that his horn blows the whole time he is pressing the brake pedal. I only wish I could have been there when that guy got in his car after work lol

corey is running the 19mm awr race bar. its pretty big.

Doesn't seem big when you compare it to some that available for the 3. Stock rear bar on a 3 is 20mm, speed3 is 25mm, aftermarket bars go to like 32mm (tubuler) iirc. I have no clue what stock on an MSP is, but it must be small if 19mm aftermarket is a big one.

The BJ is a similar chassis to my 626 (GE) from what I've seen, and some models of the 626 (lower trim) even came without a rear sway. Mine has one, and it's only 12mm. The bar length on a Protege and 3 isn't even close. I'm not sure how that effects things (mounting points, leverage, obviously tons of calculations involved), but I don't think they can be compared like that. I'm upgrading to a 17mm on mine which should be pretty neutral. A 19mm is supposed to make it more tail happy, and the 21mm AWR is just crazy for the street.

Yeah, the length of the bar makes a bit of a difference. Ivan can throw up the calculations.

I can only contribute $20, I don't think that will help out much.

Got my rental, a 2011 Mazda 3i with just under 15k. I can barely hear it start. First drive impressions of it are good. Has the 5 speed auto-stick and has some pep to it. I could see it as a dd but not anything to mod except for lowering it to get rid of the 4" gap and maybe a little louder exhaust to know it's running.

we rented one when we drove up to WI for the Road America races ... and if anyone knows me and my corral stuff, i had that trunk and back seat LOADED to the gills and STILL had a good 4" gap ... lol ... it was nice driving an automatic when we hit traffic, and it does have pep when you manually shift it ... like you said, not a bad DD.

i want your Enkies but cannot afford them.
