The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Ya, from some research, it seems like there's a lot of people that have issues with this. I'm going to try cleaning it, but I don't think I have all the tools.

yeah, i just did this a month or so ago on the speed6. i have a coolant leak now because of it...so watch the hoses at the EGR (I think thats where its coming from...)

I'll take that as a hint. ;)

I'm meeting Josh later but I can give you a buzz when I get home if you want to stop by tonight? Tomorrow is no good for me.

still showing too hot to start and the engine is nice and cool, thinkng it might be the temp sensor but the ecu could need reset maybe? How do you reset the ecu?

Just disconnect your negative battery cable, touch the brake pedal a few times (apparently it speeds up the process) wait a minute or two and reconnect the negative battery cable and the ECU will be cleared. I think I've got a spare temp sensor here if you need one. But I don't think it would read too hot if it went bad. It probably wouldn't read anything at all...

still goes stright past the H and the oil light is on.

What the duece, man... Hmm. Well, dry everything really well and see if you're leaking coolant somewhere. The oil light is for low oil pressure right? You didn't accidently disconnect the oil dummy light plug did you? I think it's on the back of the block by the oil filter.

found a problem, the fuse for the ecu was blown. bought 3 cause their cheap, well as soon as the key goes to on it blows the fuse. what could caue the fuse to just blow like that? bad ground somewhere?

Bad ground would cause no power (or limited). There's gotta be a short somewhere.

I hope this means my partay....if you need to crash here I'm sure you are more than welcome to it

well I posted that when it just seemed liked some air in the coolant was the problem, now that I have some sorta electrical gremlin she may not make it.

I'm just skimming through the day's posts to catch up. Sorry to hear that. Good luck fixing her up!
