got all my hair chopped off last night, took the msp around the block with out a hood. The power steering wants to fight me at low speed but above 15ish it seems fine.
Did you flush the power steering or open any lines? If so, did you bleed it?
I'm looking forward to the weekend. Friday BBQ with Tessas family, Saturday party at Chippys and Sunday watching you boys run at BeaveRun (if I have enough cash for gas).
So I figured out what the noise coming from the driver rear wheel was. I finally figured out it was from the brakes because the noise would go away when I held pressure on the brake pedal. It was the brake caliper rattling around. The metal anti-rattle clip thingy that goes on the outside front of the caliper was somehow bent and barely tight at all. So I tried bending it back to make it tighter on the caliper, which was a b**** to do with only a pair of pliers.

Of course you may borrow my helmet. Hell, you're getting more use out of it than I have.
I might take you up on that offer for the ride to PA. I want to take my car just because I like driving. I'll see ya saturday and we can chat. Glad you got Victoria straightened out for Sunday.
Nate, you better get Audrey figured out for Saturday!!!

I just started pulling this code on and off over the past week and a half. Nothing too serious, but for the forum here is a blurb on the EGR valve and its purpose. But, the main thing is that the EGR will increase your intake air temps, but it will reduce your combustion temperatures (less air for combustion) and reduce the possibility of knock/detonation. Another article I was reading commented on how a lot of car manufacturers will actually shift your engine map to a lower power map when the EGR is blocked/removed because of the increased possibility of knock/detonation. I'm not certain if our MS6s do this, because I haven't been able to borrow a co-workers OBDII data logger yet.
Nate, did you bleed the coolant as well? I'm pretty sure we have self-bleeding coolant systems but you still need to fill the block with coolant and the radiator and resevoir. Then I think you just fire it up and let it idle with the rad cap off and the bubbles will work their way out. Maybe a new t-stat is in order? Are your fans hooked up?
Evan, at least for the Protege's, cleaning the EGR isn't too difficult and is usually a once a year affair. I'm sure yours won't be too difficult to clean either.
when it cools down I'm gonna let it idle with out the rad cap, fans are hooked up
GRRRRRRR!!! About 10 minutes after I read this, I got a CEL on my way back to work from Lunch HAHA. I stopped at AutoZone (luckily it's 30 seconds from the office) and got the code read:
P0401
EGR System Fault: The ECM has detected too little flow on the EGR system
1. Blocked passage on EGR system
2. Failed EGR valve
3. EGR solenoid fautly
4. Failed EGR pressure sensor where applicable
5. Failed EGR position sensor where applicable
I wonder if this has anything to do with the boost gauge not showing any boost on throttle? Could just be a broken gauge, but the timing seems weird...maybe just a coincidence.
Time for some research, but if anyone has suggestions, please let me know!! Thanks
