The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Just looked at the NASA rule book and it says that the M2000 rating is not acceptable, and that effective Jan. 2012, even the M2005 will not be good enough. :( Seems like some planned obsolescence BS rather than the old ones being "unsafe." I'm not sure if that's only for HDPE or if it's for Hyperdrive, too. There were way too many pages. Looks like I may not get to use my helmet.

Are you sure you aren't looking at the racing section? Everything I see for HPDE (and Hyperdrive) says 1990.

Just Thought I would offer these up to the local guys first. I have a Injen CAI. It has been rattle canned satin black. Not perfect, but not bad. The air filter has been replaced this spring with a AEM dry flow. Comes with all clamps and couplers. Header is a Vibrant, Has 3 o2 bungs welded in(one for wideband), wrapped. Both are for the 3. PM for special local pricing.

All of the racing safety equipment has a shelf life. My harnesses are approaching the end of their life and will need replaced.

I can overnight it to you, no problem. PM Josh and ask him since since they are both his parts. I can pick it up tonight at his place and send it tomorrow. Oooh, but it would need saturday delivery and that would cost more $$$. It's up to you, brotha.

well I'd drive up there but with gas being $3.75 it will be cheaper to overnight it I think.

I'm in the process of possibly heading down to C-bus to get tires from either Stewart or Alex. I just don't know what day I'll be able to do it. If it's tomorrow, I could run it down to you.

that would be awesome

Mine used to do it all the time. I was changing plugs every 5000 miles, but Levi had said it started doing it immediately after the tune. I know that the moment it does it, it's already too late. No going back. I just hate dropping $30 in plugs every oil change.

If I remember correctly I had that on my car a couple times. First time I swapped plugs and it worked fine for a while. Then it started happening again and that's when I got the AP. Flashed and no more issues. Granted I did swap the plugs out one more time due to the AP preferring a certain type of plug. However after that I didn't have anymore issues, it all ran smooth.

Word. It seems as though the cheapest plugs are the ones that lasted the longest. I may go back to that.

Yeah, the first resolution was actually putting the stock plugs back in. I believe the last set I had were Denzo Iridium.

I've been running NGK iridium plugs and haven't hadany problems since. I'm do for another set. It's been at least 35,000 miles since I've changed them, but I haven't had a reason to change them again.
I don't have a tune either. I really need to get a SSAFC and a tune though. She probably would run a little smoother.

I had that in my Speed3 as well, changing the plugs helped but the real issue behind that was running lean, it went away after the fuel pump. Don't know if you have the same issue since you were actually running rich, maybe the new boost controller will help?

Thanks, you're right. I just put "snell" in the search bar on the rule book and the first page that came up was in the "Competition" section. I didn't notice that above that it said you were required to wear a full flame suit, too, lol.

have you guys tried running a step colder plug? I've heard that helps.

Got the exhaust mani turbo and dp out. No shaft play! I think, not sure what I'm really looking for. On the down side it looks like there might be some oil on the blades and the bottom of the turbo is oil stained and it looks kinda fresh. I;ll find my cord to load the pics

All this talk about plugs....I pulled two yesterday and they were all black around the ring and the threads but not the tip? They have about 20K on them so I was going to clean them up vs replacing them for now. See if that helps improve my mpgs some?

Anyone want to play pirates tomorrow? I'm getting this done in the morning.

Good luck, man. I only made it 13 seconds into the video, lol. I'd tell them I needed to be unconscious.

Got my alignment fixed today after my little repair session. The right wheel was pretty messed up, as expected. -2.7* camber and 2.35* toe...(boom06) No wonder it was wondering on the road!
