The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Cintas does our uniforms. Basic pants and a button up shirt. I'm just glad they do our laundry.

X2.

I was thinking about this the other day; so pretty much everyone in here has a desk job, no? Except for Jeff, Nate and I.

Not I either...lol

Although I AM waiting to be hired as an Air Traffic Controller. Once I'm in, the FAA's dress policy is business casual. Can't wait to wear normal clothes to work!

lmao....under the desk jobs do have their ups and downs. ;)

I kinda have both. I sit at a desk where I maintain our records data base but can be in the warehouse pulling said records for either a few minutes or hours...depending on how many boxes/files are needed. The other job just sux....driving an LP powered forklift to load/unload tractor trailers in the elements...but the pay is good and I'm able to work early mornings so I can be home with the fam at night.

Don't forget about me. I work in a nice hot/humid plumbing products mfg plant. Jeans/shorts, steel toe shoes, shirts or skins.

Desk job here as well so so slacks, button-up shirt and dress shoes for me. Thanks God GE did away with the ties back in the '90's. I do get to visit the shop floors and test sites pretty frequently so I do own several sets of safety glasses and steel-toed boot.

Car has been loaded up and it's on its way...

Nice but when did you change your mind and buy the Z? hehe

When is ETA....hoping I may have a chance to see it this weekend.

I'm not sure. There is a chance it could be here in time. I won't know until 24 hours before it gets here when the driver calls to give a heads up.

You'll get a 30-60 minute notice. With the 4 times I have shipped a car, none of them have ever called me 24 hrs in advance. Also, you can call the company and they can give you 1-2 day window.

Sweet, Phen! I'm excited for your new baby. And it looks like you got the perfect spot on the trailer. If they call you and you can't make it home in time, call me and I can run home since I'm 10mins down the road.

Well... the thing is that I need to pay the driver the balance of the shipping when it arrives via money order, and still have to find a place to actually unload it.

It doesn't work like that. You'll have to find a large parking lot relatively close to your house. Shopping malls, supermarkets, etc....

You can call the shipping company and they'll have the driver get in contact with you. He/she will be more able to give you a estimated time than the main office could.

To give you a rough idea of times....

Miata from LA to CT - 3-4 days
Miata from CT to GA - A little over 2 days.

YEA! new front motor mount came today! gonna have all kinds of goodies to put on.

and you can come over on sunday and tell me what to do (although the front is pretty straight forward)

That's what I was guessing... probably around Saturday or Monday it will be here...
