really first page, i didnt see anything about a bbq
The shop I work for does all the body work for Dave Walter BMW here in Akron, it's suprising how many BMW 3 AND 5 series station wagons we get in! I never would've guessed someone would pay $50K+ for a wagon!
I never paid much attention to wagons in the past really, although I DO remember saying I'd rather own a wagon over a convertible. lol Only recently, when I realized one would work for our situation right now, that I took more of an interest.
On a sidenote- my neighbor showed me that pull up cargo net that his 6 wagon has...I thought that was the coolest thing ever! Do the p5's have something like that too? Also, the rear cargo cover, does it retract up, or is it one of those hard, carpet covered, molded ones?
your core is huge, i think mine is 7" high
Eh... no real cargo options for the P5's to be honest. You'll want a 3 or 6 wagon for stuff like that.
As far as the FS-DE talk goes. You're fine if your engine was built on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Any other day of the week and they are a piece of s***.
That being said, mine has been thru total hell and still runs great. Overheated 2x, flickering oil light thanks to a rusty oil pan, flickering oil light thanks to tri-podding at an auto-x. yeah... engine should have died a long time ago.
Oh... and if you ever get a chance to drive a 535xi wagon, hit it up. I have fond memories of going sideways thru an intersection spinning all 4 tires back home...
Mini vans and crossovers are making wagons obsolete in america. europe is where wagons are still a useful and viable wehicle.

I'd rock a wagon before I rock a mini-van, although I've always had a thing for the mazda 5.
I'm pretty fond of my neighbor's, his is the sport model with the rocker mouldings, spoiler out back, and maybe a different front cover too, I can't recall. He's got it lowered, magnaflow exhaust, diffferent grille, some gauges inside...he even modded a cluster I gave him to match the light pattern of his gauges. Switched out most of the red for blue. I had to section a front rail on a 6 sedan not too long ago, and they sent a whole used front clip that still had the cluster in it, so I stripped it and gave him a bunch of random parts.
I'd consider them, but they're a little out of my price range right now, not by much though.
That is just nasty, in a dirty/good way. The rims are sick too.I love the Audi A3's that's my vote for best looking wagon. Unless you count to old two door volvo's from the 70's

with 2 doors is it really a wagon?
My mom and gf say the same thing every weekend when I'm tinkering on my MSP.Ugh, aren't weekends supposed to be restful? Spent 14 hours Saturday and 12 hours Sunday installing hardwood floor downstairs. And my wife says the RX-7 is an expensive and time-consuming hobby...
I looooove German styling in wagons. I love the BMW's and Audi's. But I would never buy one because I do all the work on my car myself. German cars are a pain in the arse to work on.
I got hooked on wagons when I was really young. I got a light blue Volvo wagon HotWheels and it was the fastest car on the track because it was so bloody heavy. So I guess I fell in love with wagons.![]()
