The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Happry friggin Monday....drove to work in the snow/slush/rain. Highway was backed up so I took a backroad where someone in an Altima decided that the new 50mph was 30mph the entire way in on a double yellow line. Someone two cars ahead of me in a VW decided to pass anyway and took off. Not my style to pass on a double yellow though so I just cruised at 30mph hitting the brakes every so often and muttering four letter words.

No problem Lauri and good luck donating it! We tried selling ours last year at a garage sale too and no one even looked twice at it. lol

Effing hate expense reports. Seriously. Soo many little details that can bite you in the ass.

Glad to see everyone is having a great Monday like mine :) I think Mondays should be like a half day of work to gradually get yourself back into the swing of things after the weekends and that way it doesn't suck as bad.

Drop off the Waggin to have crash damage repaired, now to deal with all of the month end crap in the wonder world of mortgages. Gotta love the refinances!!!!

I have an archaic 19" CRT TV in the bedroom that has been with me for years.. It went with me when I was stationed in Guam and came back with me, it's been dropped more than twice, has a cracked outer shell, but damnit does it still work.

(Note: I went to Guam in 2004.)

Edit: 2 Expense reports down.... 1 to go. The one I wanted to get done first was the one which paid me $.50 per mile in my own car with 413 miles traveled.

First day back at work in ~3 weeks and first full day since before Christmas. Spent 3 hours this morning sorting email and such. And computers were supposed to make our lives easier...

Does anyone have any use for 9006 bulbs or a manual boost controller? I have a lot of 8 never been used bulbs I've collected over the years for various reasons. I have no use for them and figured someone who's car, Mazda or other, that uses them might want a spare or 8..

Indeed they do. Meeting after meeting for me today. Just finished my 1pm, getting ready for my 2pm.

yeah mileage money reimbursement is cool until you remember that your racking up alot of miles on your personal car for the "benefit" of your company....
in my case id be mid 80k right now but thanks to work travel im only a couple hundred miles away from the century mark :(

so while the money is nice per mile, it has to be cause your killing the value of your car etc for your employers benefit....

The company actually doesn't want me to use my own car. It's overall cheaper for them have me rent a car instead of taking my own, but I worked this out with my boss because the worksite was near a good friend of mine. I took a 4 day weekend to see him since he just got back from overseas. My boss was totally cool about it and we worked things out.

well your lucky then... i dont have an option, i have to take my car and they reimburse me for it the end of every month

I couldn't imagine usingthe MSP as a daily business trip car. F*&^ that. I would have to go out and buy a Mazda2 for sure then.

I haven't had a job in the last 8 years where I didn't drive my own vehicle for work and was reimbursed miles. The last job mileage was just a tax deduction not an actual reimbursement. When I was shopping around for replacement cars for my Vibe, I really didn't want to get a new car because within 2 years I'd have 100k on it. Now that I'll be in the office more and my boss is telling me their goal is to have my strictly in the office managing, I'll be able to put just regular miles on the Jeep. Otherwise I just look at it as more time I get to spend in the vehicle I purchased to enjoy.
