The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I'm just going to start by saying I hate Toledo plow trucks. Last night going to work I went through a intersection turning left. A plow truck must have just went straight through the interesection perpendicular to me. So I crossed the intersection with making a left hand turn where the trail of snow and ice was left by the truck. Bam! F*&*ing hit a median curb that was not visible to anyone. My left front hit it pretty hard so I pulled over into the Kroger parking lot around 11:15pm to find out I have a nicecurb rash and small chunk missing from my rim and the tire is completely flat. I couldn't see s*** so a go to a closed gas station to use the air machine thinking maybe the air just blew from the pressure between the rim and the tire. While pumping air (still in the dark) all I can hear is the air coming out from the other end of the tire. Great and a few other choice words were said. I used my cell phone for lightand saw that it blew a hole about a 2 inches wide in the sidewall. All the lug nuts were frozen on an the wrench in my car was not long enough to unloosen the lugs. So I devised a way to use the car jack as a extention to the arm of the wrench to loosen the lugs before jacking it up and had to be very carfull not to scratch the car. Then I got to change the tires I just rotated 2 days before. Like a good boy took of both left side tires putting the spare in the back and rear in the front. All of this while freezing my ass off in 10-15 degree weather. Good times. All of this because the road wasn't cleared off yet and I had no idea there was a median curb for a small protion of that road. Needless to say I was really pissed off and late to work. All I could think about was hopefully the rim is fixable and life goes on. So now my car is ridin dirty.

Pablo- don't be jealous I was at Jasens house. And Rainbow6 is super addicting and fun to play on Xbox360.

Larry- like Levi said, deals will always be around, your health is more important. Hope everything goes okay, buddy.

Rally- that suuuuucks.

ps- I'm looking forward to seeing you turkeys Saturday at the Lizard.

Sunday and Monday sucked for me.

I had my summer tires on this weekend, no biggie since it was 70's in Virginia. Once I got closer to Ohio, it dropped to 30ish. Getting closer to Akron, it starts raining/snowing. So I had to drive home in this, on rock hard summer tires. I finally get home after 9 hours of driving and I'm dead tired, so I go to bed. I wake up Monday morning before work and it's a blizzard!!! Luckily, my mom let me borrow her A4 with quattro. So, I come home from work and then I have the fun task of swapping the winter wheels on. It's still snowing pretty heavily, and my goal is to get my car in the garage. Needless to say, that didn't happen. My driveway is a pretty steep incline. I couldn't even get a running start because the summer tires sucked so bad!!! I even shoveled the driveway, but no luck. I had people try to help me and push while I gunned it. No luck!! So I gave up and had to change my front wheels outside in the friggin blizzard. FML!!!!

So I figured out that I drove 1300 miles Fri-Sun. I did 100% of the driving too. Evan #3 offered to drive some, but I was having so much fun on the twisty highway I didn't want to let him LOL. So I estimated about 25-26 hours of driving in 3 days!!

Dang. I was going to ask if you could drop off my enkeis at Motomotion for me, Chippy. Two have small bends.

PM or text me. If you are ready, bring them to the Lizard and I will take them up there on Monday afternoon. Motomotion is only 5 minutes from my house, so it's no big deal. It is a bigger deal of us being able to meet up somewhere and hand-off the wheels, ya know?

I would love to make an offer on these. Not too sure I will like the low profile either but if, IF I am able to get those wheels off of Levi's buddy (Shawn?). I will need tires, cheaper the better for now as they only have to last this summer. As luck would have it I have to have surgery (2 hernias) in the next week or so. I am waiting for the surgeon to call me for an exam appointment to set my surgery date, and pending works comp my monies(or lack of) are on hold. Pisses me off so bad, now my springs, sway bars, and wheels are all on hold till we know for sure what is going on. I was going to get the ball rolling on this stuff this week.

Don't worry about it. Plus they are pretty low profile and leave a massive wheel gap on the MS3, yet alone on the regular hatch (see pic below). And I took them off because I didn't trust the two that are worn to the cords for the Mohican Fun Run, which goes to show my faith in them. But honestly, the other two that are still good are in excellent condition if someone wants them to play with or something.

that sucks larry, and dont worry about putting those parts on hold, there will always be deals on car parts... your health is more important anyway, good luck with a speedy recovery man
Quoted for truth. Get better, Larry!

LOL i'll have to come down sometime, i'll bring my system so we can have a little variety

Thanks guys for the kind words. I saw the surgeon yesterday, and I will have to have my heart checked out (heart history) on Tuesday since I will be put under full sedation and they won't put me out until they know I won't have an episode on the operating table. Then I will get the date set for the surgery. Sooner the better, it feels like someone is standing on my crotch! Thanks again! If I were Evan I would drop the E-hug thing now, but I am not, so I won't.

I should be home for a little while, I hope. I have a lot of guitar work to catch up on for this gig that I have in only a handful of weeks...

Listening to The Ramones, waiting for warmer weather

Pretty cool. I had busted out some old school s*** today. Just finished Metallica's - "Kill 'Em All" album. I forgot how much I loved that album. So many songs from it had shaped my cynical and pissy point of view.

Living and dying, laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you'll never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
It's hot and it's heavy and dirty and mean

Motorbreath
It's how I live my life
I can't take it any other way
Motorbreath
The sign of living fast
It is going to take your breath away

Don't stop for nothing, it's full speed or nothing
I'm taking down, you know, whatever's in my way
Getting your kicks as you're shooting the line
Sending the shivers up and down my spine

Motorbreath
It's how I live my life
I can't take it any other way
Motorbreath
The sign of living fast
It is going to take your breath away

Those people who tell you not to take chances
They are all missing on what life's about
You only live once, so take hold of the chance
Don't end up like others, same song and dance

Motorbreath
It's how I live my life
I can't take it any other way
Motorbreath
The sign of living fast
It is going to take your breath away
