When I got the wheels, they had 225/45 tires, which Rubbed in the rears. I rolled my fenders so I haven't rubbed since.
I just got my new summer tires which are 235/40. I haven't mounted them yet though.
I got them from someone west of Elyria. He used to have a MS6. I paid 500 for the wheels and almost brand new Goodyear Eagle GT A/S tires. I love the look of the wheels. They are almost flush since they're 1" wider than stock and I believe 52.5 offset (stock is 55 I think). You should definitely roll your fenders with a 235 tire. From my research, some people don't rub with 215's and 225/40. 225/45 and anything 235+ will rub.
There was a thread the other day where some guy was saying that with 235s he didn't rub unless he had two people in the back. he also said that aftermarket suspension helped out a ton because he would rub on bumps with the stock setup. Did you roll your own fenders?
Ya I noticed that I would only rub on bumps and with people in the back. I have a stock suspension too.
Yes I rolled my own fenders. We had a Ohio Mazdas Cookout a few months ago and someone from Cbus brought an Eastwood Fender Roller. I was a little cautious about doing it myself, but it was actually pretty easy. Turned out really good. You have to take your time and use a heat gun, otherwise you'll crack the paint.
You can always try RX8club.... Usually you can catch those guys trying to dump their rims for cheap. I picked up a set a while back local for 300 with tires and they were mint.

Love the Christmas car Evan2 and James....thought about doing that briefly with my steelies this upcoming summer but I may chicken out and just paint them bronze.
