The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

He does have a point. I'll bring you a jar to start saving money in tomorrow.

I have a ring and I love it...exactly what I was looking for...but nowhere near the prices y'all are talking about...you guys are crazy!

But I'm not a normal girl, I guess, I'd rather sean buy stuff for his car...

Lol I'll hold my breath on finding a nice lady that will take a modest ring and another one from Target with lots of fake bling to wear out and about that doesn't matter if she loses it. That's what my mom does. I don't get the point in a multi-thousand dollar ring that you're scared to wear for fear of losing or damaging it.. But then again, I'm practical..

Practical! Now there is a bright boy. I feel that the cost of the ring in no way reflects the feelings that you have for someone. Just sayin... "Look at this babe I spent $XXXX.XX on a ring to show how much I love you" Fukking redunkulous!!!!!

I feel the same goes for the wedding. I don't think my fiance and I need to have a huge, expensive, elaborate wedding to prove to our friends and family how much we love eachother. They should see that on a daily basis.

My friends had such a small, casual wedding they didn't even have a wedding cake. They had a bunch of wedding cupcakes. That is brilliant!

Not trying to sound like a prick or anything, Nate. Please don't take offense. It's great you're getting married and I'm sure this is all very exciting, brotha. :)

I'm soooo glad I told Justine this site gave her a virus and she isn't on to read this wedding stuff... ;)

Not taking any offense at all and I'm very happy with the choice I made because she's happy. I'm hoping for a small inespensive wedding (she kinda has a big family so we'll see), the honeymoon however...that's where I want the money to be spent.

Exactly! My mom has said that a hundred times, have a simple wedding with a few friends and family and spend the rest of it on the honeymoon. She's a travel agent and might be biased, but it makes sense to me! I'd think the wedding day is stressful enough, I wouldn't want to have the thoughts of "eugh, this cost 20k$ on top of it being stressful.." in the back of my head, haha!

Famous last words...... (lol2)

We had a simple wedding and I let Lauri choose her own ring. She was practical and choose a band with diamonds and sapphires(my birthstone). We got married in Vegas, where we had friends and family show up and had our dinner at a great Japanese Steakhouse, where my brothers ended up paying for. Simple, in expensive and a lot of fun. I have had friends who spent 10's of thousands of dollars and ended up divorced less than a year later, money could have wnt to better use, IMHO.!

You mean we've could've had a hook-up on traveling this whole time?

Letting Amber pick it out wasn't an option, that would ruin the whole surprise. I don't think we have to worry about any 5 digit wedding unless other people are chipping in a huge hunk of it.

And Merry Christmas to All! I have some wrapping to do then I'm all done!

lets see... my wedding wasnt too expensive (we were pretty broke at the time), and neither was the ring. i had my wife's mom help me pick it out... yeah im good.

looking back now... my wife is still happy with her ring, but we both agree... a smaller wedding, maybe even eloping with just our best friends and family present, and then have a big reception back home. that is the way to go. at least my wedding was only 15 minutes, and not an hour and 20 minutes like my best friends. i was dying in that tux. almost passed out.

I was woken up this morning by my parents, who were excited because Santa was riding a hot air balloon directly over our house. By the time I got out of bed he had moved pretty far away, but I ran out on the snow-covered deck (barefoot!) to try and snap a quick picture:

Jasen and I spent all day playing video games and I am totally wired on Cherry Pepsi right now so I'm trying to come down.
