April 28-May 1 Braselton, GA

The 2011 Mitty is returning to Road Atlanta from April 28-May 1 for our annual celebration of all things automotive, and this years event promises to be the best yet.

Grand Marshal: Jim Downing will be our guest of honor at the event,. Well be recognizing the accomplishments of Jim and the rest of the Brock Racing Enterprises team. Jim will be on hand throughout the weekend to check out the races and meet fans. Plan on stopping by the Classic Motorsports tent to attend an autograph session.

Featured Marque: Of course, no celebration of racing accomplishments would be complete without the participation of our featured marque, Mazda. The 2011 Mitty will feature many of the incredible cars the company has built over the years. Expect to see several of the original Mazda race cars that have landed in the winners circle; these historic racing cars will be on display all weekendwhen theyre not on track, of course. Be sure to look for many other Mazda surprises at The Mitty as well.

A Japanese Invasion: This years event will also be a celebration of all Japanese sports cars. We expect a record number of cars from makes such as Datsun/Nissan, Toyota, Honda and, of course, Mazda. The MX-5 Miata will have a special corral.

Mazda Drivers Party: After the racing action on Friday, Mazda will host a special party open to anyone with a Mazda key in their pocket. Come to meet and talk with the Mazda Pro racers, factory representatives, and executives that help make this company the number-one choice of amateur racers.

Classic Motorsports Small Bore Cup Race: The Classic Motorsports Mitty will host the second round of the 2011 Classic Motorsports Small Bore Cup. The series is open to small-bore cars produced before 1965 and their continuation counterparts. This leg of the competition promises to be a hotly contested battle among our readers favorite cars.

Kumho Autocross: Thanks to our friends at Kumho Tires USA, the 2011 Mitty will again offer spectators the chance to drive a Kumho-equipped Mazda MX-5 around our infield autocross course. This driving experience is completely free of charge, so make sure you sign up for some top-down driving fun!

Moss Pub: The Moss pub will be open for business during the evening hours on Friday and Saturday night. Come by for a cold drink and the best bench racing youll find this side of Siebkins. You can also challenge a friend to a game of darts or a race around our slot car track. And dont miss the live music performed by Wes Cobb on Saturday night.

Historic Stock cars: You wont find any cookie-cutter Cars of Tomorrow hereHSRs Historic Stock Car class features a full field of competitive racers piloting the cars from NASCARs past. Be sure to walk through the paddock to see these famous former race winners.

We look forward to seeing you all at the Classic Motorsports Mitty. For more information, go to themitty.com.

So don't worry non LMS people (o0n8). Just because you work on your Mazda yourself or don't live close to LMS does not mean you can't go!

I don't know why exaclty, maybe it's the 80's goodness but i kinda want it:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1984...6680580?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2c594b7d84

Wow, that makes my knees weak, and I'm sitting down.. I love love love the 80's stuff that rolled out of Japan. Looks like a TE72 Liftback, but that's a Corolla. Think of the potential!!

Hi Marlon Put me down for this I will tow the RX-7 down instead of bringing the Speed3. Iwill see if Linda wants to go as well.

I'll have to check the schedule but that sounds cool as hell. It'll probably come down to being either this or VIR though...

In other news, what a lovely subzero morning it was down here today.

The Mitty will have one hell of an Ohio Mazda caravan for sure! Sounds great!

I'll see the new movie. But I'll watch just about anything with cars in it, even if it's bad. Heck, I still watch the American TopGear... ;)

I still haven't seen the last one. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious though. I did see the first two in high school (dating myself a bit), but I was more into American Muscle back then so they just pissed me off they kept wrecking nice cars in favor of the rice-mobiles.

But I'm with you Evan, I'll watch anything involving cars. Although currently my wife won't let me watch the American Top Gear. You know it's bad when someone who isn't a car person will watch Top Gear UK but won't watch Top Gear US...

Phen, go ahead and spread the word throughout the community here and on other forums. Use the post that Sean put up as far as the details. The most important thing is to have the longest continuous line of Mazda's on track.
