The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

did you get the emails I sent you? a KLG4 might be in your future...

And another successful install @ LMS, let's see if Evan #2 makes it home alive...

Ask Jay if they have any performance parts for the G4's that they might want to sell too since they will bolt up to the ZE as well, pretty please.

Here's a shot of Pablo and Evan #2 installing the SAI. Pablo made short work of that install and they didn't even crack open the instructions. That Speed3 is crazy fast!

What are you saying Evan, that I drink too much? Huh? Is that what you're trying to tell me? LOL.

So... was the RX7 sold? What's up with it?

No, you don't drink too much. But you don't drink any little either. heh-heh. Just that you are more of the party kind of guy and a better host. I'll organzie them, you host them. Deal?
And yeah, the RX7 is sold. There were 3 hillbilly cats my age that replied to Kevins Craigslist ad and will be picking it up saturday. I'll be sad to see her go because hse has sooo much potential but it will be nice not to have to mow/rake around another car. ;)

Yes, sorry, I forgot to reply. Thanks for emailing them for me. It was kinda confusing to tell what was going on in the email, but I saw KLG4 and my heart started beating faster and I got a tingly feeling in my pants. I liked it. :)

^^^ Dean is going to read that and still think you're the hot girl in your avatar. haha

Well with any luck, the BMW will be gone soon too. Then we'll have nothing but running cars! I just have to renew the registration on the Civic and start driving it again. That way when the P5 finally falls apart, I'll still have that as a DD.

You should just get a cheap eBay cat back for the Civic. Then she's a perfect DD. Comfortable, reliable, snow tank, and still fast as a banshee.

If I can't make it up there on Saturday seriously ask if they intend to rebuild the engine or if they're going to swap it out :)

Either way, I'll check out this Sunrise Motors. The only reason I haven't picked up anything yet is because I'm holding out for a shortblock. No need to spend $1k+ when I don't need half the parts (transmission, turbo, engine harness). Hell, I actually just want the rotor housings, front/center/rear plates and front cover assembly as I intend to swap in a N/A rotating assembly.

I'm trying to talk myself into making the trip up there this weekend. Let me know if anybody wants to caravan up with me.

Intake will take 1 hour tops. With the expertise at LMS it should be closer to 45 minutes. Wish I could help, I've installed that Corksport intake 3 times on my car! Just be careful with the tiny hose in the back and the plastic nipple... I can't wait for you to hear your turbo!

I think it took us about 1 hour, we weren't in a hurry so we took our time. I want to thank LMS for all the great work. I will definitely be a returning customer. We went for a test drive after the install...my jaw hit the floor, and was stuck there lol! The sound is AMAZING...the car sounds like it actually has a turbo now!!!! The throttle response is amazing...the turbo is more like a supercharger because it spools up instantly! Also, my butt dyno and tire dyno show noticeable gains. If my Prosport boost gauge is accurate, it shows that I peak at 16.5-17psi and drops down to about 15.5psi. Before, it would only peak at 15.5 and taper off to 15psi.

evan, if i bring wheels and tires up is there anywhere/anyone close to you that would mount and balance my new tires on my winter wheels for cheap?

Thankfully...I made it home alive. Also, made it to work this morning...ticket free **knock on wood**

Also...Saturday I work at 5pm, but I might stop by LMS to hang out depending on when you guys plan on starting.

so any of you guys know anyone that would be interested in a set of 05 red/black mazda3 seats? haha

they may be coming out of my car this weekend and if you guys knew someone ill hook them up so i dont have to haul them back to PA hahaha

School sucks. Can't wait until next semester for some more suckage. At least then I'll be in a major I like. Nothing beats being a 5th year senior and only being a sophomore in the program:( Oh well that just means I have 2-3 more years of SCCA for the northwest ohio region.

possibly a set of speed3 seats

i just dont want to buy the speed3 seats and then have to let mine collect dust in the basement since i have no need for 2 sets of seats

LOL, tell me about it. I've got one Sparco seat installed, the other is in the basement with the stock driver's seat and I can't get rid of either set to save my life!

Evan #2- that was all you and Pablo on your install. I just held the lamp and used my "lady hands" for the tight fit bolts. I'm thinking about asking Pablo and Wes to be my business partners... haha. But your Speed3 sounds freaking amazing now. I'm really surprised how much just the air intake helped your car breath. Yay Corksport! :)

Jon- I'll ask those guys what they're doing with the motor and will certainly let you know. Hell, we could even pull the motor saturday and save it for you if they don't want it. And I can't believe no one has bought your seats yet. Those things are soooo nice. Why are you selling them anyway?

MonkeyAss- I highly recommend Leipold Tire just up the street from my house. I hate taking my car to shops because I don't trust anyone working on my car but they have always done a great job aligning my car and swapping out wheels/tires. And a couple of the guys auto-x there so they take good care of me. I've actually bought them a dozen donuts one morning as a thanks you gift. I would call ahead and make an appointment for saturday though, they usually get pretty busy.

If I can make it up there this weekend I'd say that sounds like a plan (would they like it if we pulled the engine?). As for the seats, they're just a tad too large for the RX-7. I'm now looking for something narrower with a fixed back like the Sparco EVO or Rev Plus. People just don't want to pay good money for good parts I guess.

I really wanna thank Pablo. He did a lot! He knew exactly what we were doing, so few issues and confusion that occurred, he knew exactly what to do! I think we actually technically used the instructions, but only once to verify what we had done was indeed correct.

Here are some pics I took at lunch today...very sunny and beautiful weather!!! I get an hour lunch and drove around for the full hour. I actually forgot to get food and eat because I was having so much fun! HAHA

I'm glad I stuck with the Red theme...it looks good on my Red car :)
You can also just barely see in the second picture my JBarone Short Shifter Plate with the shift linkage attached to it. Money well spent. Now that it's not hitting my stock airbox, the shifts are much easier. It shortened my shifts and I retained the stock shifter height. Eventually, if I get the TWM Shifter Replacement, I'll probably have to get rid of the SSP because the shifts might actually be too short HAHA.

O ya...and I'm in the TWM Group Buy for a Flat Black Big Type-R Shift Knob...can't wait for that bad boy. The OEM shift knob is wayyyy to light!!! I think that's one of the contributing factors to the sloppy stock shifting on the MS3.
