The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Are you talking about this clip here?

It's actually a clip that sits on the back of the brake pad.

i'm pretty sure i'm way better at driving than video games...so i think it's silly that you have to be really good at GT in order to be even considered...

IMO real life trumps even the best simulation!

its true there are things you can't feel, even if the steering is quite responsive. I still consider it a good experience, when you're in the higher levels you have to be very smooth with the steering and the brakes with the high speeds, managing entry and exit lines on apexes, etc

Anti-squeal pads on the backing side of the pad? They're just held on by bent metal tabs usually. I always just slapped them back on after they fell off.

I was under the impression that the inner pad retainer was not on the pad. Perhaps I should look at my rears so that I know whats up. I know that my Hawk pads came with a wire type clip attached to them. Of course that was on the second attemp to get rear pads as the first set was wrong. My rear pad part number is hf571f.605 the wrong part number was hb478f.605 and the biggest difference was the clip/wire.

There are 3 clips: the spring clips / wires, whatever you want to call them. The anti-rattle clips which are the ones at the extreme ends of the pads where they interface with the grooves on the calipers, and the anti-squeal shims which clip onto the rear face of the pads.

Pad shims (that go on the back of the pad) on top.

I don't know about your Hawk pads but with my HP+ on the Miata I reused all this hardware from the pads that came off the car.

Indeed it is.

I've had a few bad ideas thrown at me today. I'm starting to consider some of them...

Why would you consider "bad ideas"?

I work with my uncle and father and this morning my uncle said "Evan, got any new music? I'm bored." so I told him to type in dubstep into Pandora on his phone. He freaking loves it. Haha! I've only heard a tiny bit from Evan#2 and Phen and dug what I've heard. So we each have a turn on the stereo in the shop and we listened to random dubstep for 2 hours. My dad hates it, which made it just that much better. Haha! So today has been fun. But now I have a headache... too much bass.

I've only heard about 2 minutes of dubstep. I'm going to check it out now.

bad ideas could be somewhat good ideas, like going out for st. patty's day with your blonde co-worker, it was a bad idea in the long run and i knew it but it was somewhat good at the moment.

I've been looking at baby names all day so I don't have alot of excitement to report other than I'm naming my next dog Slam. That way his dog tag will read "Slam Duncan".

Damn. I'm off tomorrow and kinda want to go to the funeral. Is that weird, since I don't know him? If anyone else wants to go, I'm down. Just let me know. But I won't be going by myself. This year has been terrible, and though none of it had to do with me personally, I seriously got emotional over everything. It just plain sucks.

That must suck, I have no idea what that feels like.

Currently, I have 140 gallons worth of compressors sitting on a trailer in my garage, muahahahaha! Anyone interested in a 3ph 80 gal unit for an industrial setting?
