Personally, I would not get a 250. You won't even get a season out of it and will want/need something with more ass. 250cc=gut-less!
I think the sound would give it away. For reference, Megan Fox rode an Aprilia 125 in Transformers. I don't think you'd ever hear the end of it if you got a smaller bike than a girl. I'm not saying I'd give you a hard time, but I think others would, lol.
My freind laid done his 250 so I'm ok with being gut-less

Looks tall for a 125, but she's pretty hot. Only draw back is I don't think you can take them on the highway. Yeah people would make fun of me but it wouldn't be the first time.
on a more fun note my nieghbor tried to burn down the apartments last night. She left a pizza in the oven for over 4 hours while she passed out from being drunk. Me and Amber went over to see what was going on and she was completely out if it. She had no clue what was going on when she came to the door. So drunk she peed herself and didn't even know it.
Blah Blah Blah... For thoughs of you that think I'm a newb on a motorcycle you've got me all wrong. I've been riding since 2003. I own a 1980 Honda 400 and often drive my dad 1982 Suzuki 750. The Honda is a chop in progress. It now is about 2 1/2" lower and is hardtail. I went to school at CCS in Detriot for product design and put most of my efforts in motorcycle design. Grew up all my life with my dad riding on the gas tank down the road in front of him before I was big enough to hold on behind him. Believe me I would sell my soul for a 2009-2011 Kawasaki Z1000, but it would just cost me way too much right now with insurance and payment combined at over $250 a month. I already have 2 cars payment (the MSP and a Mazda2), paying $41,000 of college loans while going back to school, have 2 kids, and I only work a part-time job at night. I get by without federal aid, except for school, but I know that the extra $250-$300 would brake the bank right now. Sorry about the rant, but that is the main reason for getting a newer Kawasaki Ninja 250R or SE.
Anywho, I raced at the NWOR SCCA event yesterday in the rain at the Toledo Airport. Good times on a big course (for this area at least). Placed 2nd (-.402) to a WRX with 235 tires that is the 2010 STX champion in the Detriot region SCCA. I really need to get 225's or 235's, instead of 205's for the MSP and out with the Duralst pads and in with the Hawk HP Street or + pads. Can't wait until the next event when I at least have the pads and maybe a trunk mounted battery. Hopefully spring/summer weather will finally show up in the Ohio area.

Those 3 pics of stunting on a motorcycle is a big reason why insurance is high.
Why not try Cobalt Friction's CSR's, I can get you a 10% off of the pads if you'd like.
i assumed you knew to ride cause you brought up 1000cc bikes haha.... and thats why i suggested getting a used 600 for about the same price youd be paying for the 250 haha
I believe that it only has be above 5bhp to be on the highway.
