Happy Draft Day everybody!

*Breaking News* Bengals to draft busts in first 7 rounds...

Just one more reason why I prefer college football

I didn't go to college and grew up in Cleveland. I genetically don't have a choice but to constantly root for my team. The last 12 years have been rough but can't just give up. So I'll be watching football nerdy tv the next 3 days to watch college athletes get told which professional team they might play for if there is a season next year.

thats becoming just as corrupt now too :(

It's always been corrupt...

I'll try to watch tonight, at least til the Bengals pick and I get upset. I swear I need a new team but Mike Brown can't live forever so they might become a decent franchise one day.

I'm with you Levi...don't these greedy asses understand that what they are doing is only going to hurt them in the long run? I'll bet there are a lot more people out there that will say screw the NFL and not go to overpriced games and pay for overpriced food/parking so these morons can make their millions. And I have to be honest and say I hate what has happened to college football over the years. Every freaking year the Bowl games have a new name thanks to a sponsor that offered more money...the names of stadiums are being changed to sponsors (this is all sports). I'm a Dolphins fan and thought it was downright low and greedy to change the name of Joe Robbie Stadium. The freaking founder of the team....guess he wasn't willing to shell out more money for naming rights vs Sun Life.

Miami changes the stadium name once a year.. There has already been talk about putting advertising on football jerseys in the NFL. I love football enough that I'd force myself to get use to it over time, but oh man I would absolutely hate it if they do that. I own a few jerseys, but will never buy another one if that happens. These teams are suppose to represent the city they are in, not the advertisers or companies that want to jump on their backs.

thats cool, but to me... it just pisses me off to no end to see millionaires arguing with billionaires over money when in reality even league minimum (the guy that rides the bench and does pretty much nothing) makes more in 1 year than most Americans make in 8-9 years, yet they are bitching and moaning that they dont make enough money... give me a ******* break! (same basic rant can be applied to the greedy ass owners as well)

i wont be buying anything that is licensed by the NFL anymore...

sure ill still watch but i wont be buying anything that will make these greedy people anymore money than they already make....

Yeah every year I try to remember the original names of the bowls and weather or not they are still around. That's the one thing I can appluad Mike Brown for in not taking money to name the stadium (it's also in the contract with the city that it cannot ever be renamed).
What I hate the most about college football right now is the different jerseys they make the teams wear to promote a new product line.

This whole thing started because the owners didn't think they were making enough money and wanted the players to make less. The players were content with how things were set up already. Which is why the players keep asking the owners to shell out proof of them needing to make more money, but the owners say no. So basically a bunch of guys, who made their billions doing other things, and owning a sports team is a hobby to them, decided that they needed not just a little more.. but over a billion more than they were originally getting, taking it away from the players.

The part that upsets me is that neither side is taking into consideration the people working the stadiums, food courts, security, local businesses and what not who will literally loose all their income if things aren't worked out. Those people are not millionaires, thousandaires maybe but we all know they most likely depend on working to make ends meet.

the players are far from innocent in this too.... dont act like its all been one sided

I would never say that the players aren't greedy as well. When people like Dez Bryant have already spent everything he made in guaranteed money on jewelry in his first year alone.

Or Land Shark Stadium, or Pro Player Stadium, OR Pro Player Park....

Edit: forgot two... Dolphin Stadium and Dolphins Stadium.

Exactly my point...he who pays the most gets their name plastered all over the place. Makes me sick. Wait...who gets that money? That's right the owners who are saying they don't make enough as it is.....crock'o's*** if you ask me.

Hadn't heard about them putting ads on jerseys...if that s*** happens I'll never buy another. Wanted to buy my son a Welker jersey for Christmas but wasn't willing to shell out the cash for something he'll wear one year, two at the most.

Same here, I was going thru the bowl schedule this year and could harldy recognize them. And I have to agree with Levi...those other people who work the stadium for games are not even an afterthought in this whole thing. If the games are cancelled due to a lockout do they get something...hell no. They are left scrambling to find other work to make ends meet. And now this talk of the NBA locking out next year?!

What I'd like to see implemented in every sport is that when you are a rookie, you get a 1yr contract and make the minimum. If you produce then you can sign a multi-year contract for millions. All these damn kids getting muli-million contracts and then either being a bust or getting injured and not playing is downright ridiculous.

I wish I could have the players min for one season. I could almost retire on that.

I'm all for a rookie cap. I think the NBA does have that. i could care less about the NBA going to lock out, i don't watch it as is.

hell yea... ill be a guy that carries all your bags and gets the s*** beat out of him in practice for 340k a year LOL
