The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Hah, no, and it was more than 500$, so that won't work. Is it like the GRMS challenge where you can recoup money by selling parts that came on the car? If that's the case, then it might qualify.
It is actually $500 for the car and mods, not including any safety items roll cage, belts, fire extinguisher etc. also you have to use very high tread wear rated tires like all season radials. Consumables also don't count toward your $500, those would be brakes, tires, oil etc. You can also sell off parts to defere costs. A friend of mine actually ran a few lemons events last year and said it actually costs slightly less then running there old IT car for the season. So its not really that cheap to do, I think the budget for there season was about $20k.

so my boredom and lack of work today led me to searching online at random car parts only to find a set of sp23 peanut butter brown seats ive been drooling over/dreaming of finding and owning a set for so long.... too bad my broke ass cant afford the seats :(

Spicy should be done in the next 7-10 days...just welded the flange for the Turbosmart BOV. Will have all of the piping connected and then on to the SS AFC, AEM UEGO Wideband has been installed and then to the dyno for tuning! Then off to the Russians for body-work ,painting and then testing and tuning @ VIR!!!

Oh goodness. This kid I know from school posts on facebook all mad saying that "GT5 is the most unrealistic driving game I've ever played."

This other kid replies saying "um, have you played a real racing game before?"

And he's like "Oh yeah, I have every nascar game since 99."

Ahh, I see the problem.. I told him that actually yes, it has one of the best physics engines, but he was still mad that the nascars don't go the right speed when drafting.

And then he said that he only bought it to play nascar. I'm not sure what to think, now.

Tell him to sell it to me for cheap.

yeah i wouldn't get those, would rather pay the full price for new ones

+1

I would always have the thought of having $50 eBay rods in the back of my head everytime I got on the throttle. zoom-zoom-boom.

And Wes, your friend is funny.

He's not my friend, which is why I originally said "a kid I know," and yes, unfortunately he was totally serious.

A while ago my dad's 05 Freestyle started making clunking noises going over bumps, so he got it checked out at two different places. They both said it was end links (not specified which one(s)) and said around 200$ to fix it. I look up the part on rockauto, they're 9$ each, and I tell my dad I can do it for him. He said he'd rather live with the noise because unfortunately the guy at the shop told him that it's not doing any harm. I don't get it, you can't help people if they won't help themselves... Ehh family is family..

Our dads should hang out. My dad had the dealership replace his MAF sensor for $300. And they quoted him $1800 for an OEM exhaust. Of all the work I've done on my cars over the years, my father still doesn't trust me to touch his car. Unless of course it's installing "MAYHEM" stickers. Then I'm the man. (facepalm)

I'm always here to help, mate.

ps- if you need any help moving, let me know. ;)

Might need company on a round trip, but movers will be taking care of the big stuff.

Jasen, I dig road trips. Just let me know and I only have one condition; I get to bring my iPod for half the trip, the other half is your iPod.

Wes- that was a cat-back for his Land Rover from the stearlership. Not the Mazda3. He was looking at the CorkSport catback but chickened out.
