I miss the screaming F1 engines, but don't think the new ones are terrible. Ferrari 250 GT Lusso video (http://youtu.be/AVuSf6tkfpQ) gives me chills.
That car is beautiful!

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the new F1 engines. The old sounds were great, the new ones are great too, just different. The technology in the new engines is very impressive.
I do miss the theatre of the old F1 engines but, that's not what irks me. I know that there is a tremendous amount of skill required to wrestle an F1 car. The thing is that the new technology has made it too easy for them. Think back to when the cars didn't have as much down force or driver aids or flappy paddle gear shifts. Such as the era when Senna was competing and even earlier than that. My thing is recalling from the documentary about Senna when he finished one race and his muscles were locked up. You don't see drivers exert themselves like that anymore. (end rant)
Great season thus far though. No complaints about the engines since they really are technological master pieces.
+1, I just don't get it when people do an iron block ls swap.I'm a fan of EFI throttle bodies made to replace stock carbs. Like someone said it looks natural under the hood but you get the benefits of modern EFI. Sorry, any way you cut it an EFI system is going to be better than a carb. Resto -> carb, Resto-mod -> EFI replacement, Custom/Racecar/etc. -> ITBs.
I don't mind the LSx engine as long as it's an aluminum block (i.e. and engine from the last decade). I hate seeing people drop an iron block with iron heads in a modern car. Really dislike the Toyota I6 blocks though. Too tall, too big, and too heavy. I like seeing swaps with modern, quad-cam V6s and V8s.
'32 deuce coupe would be my choiceIt would be cool to see a wild V6 ecoboost in an old ford chasis, Maybe even a ranchero, perhaps a mustang, just to be different.
Does the 8 not have the deflood sequence the S5 FC's have? Hold the gas pedal down and start, let off when it catches?
