The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Isn't there a thread on M247 for rants/complaints and bitching? I mean, if things suck, then find a solution. Like I said earlier, this thread is turning into a Facebook status update place. It used to be about conversations and discussions. Now it's just self centered posts.

Let's get back to conversations and discussions. This is the only thread I check on M247 anymore since I don't have a Protege.

Not trying to sound too harsh, but just being blunt.

Phen, if you need to vent, let's get a beer and look at pretty waitresses after work, my nigga.

Unfortunately I think this forum is dying a slow death :( Really sucks for me because I can easily check this at work and not Facebook where the majority of things are now being posted.

So on the topic of discussion, Best everyday driving brake pads? Best place to get them?

With the limited amount of track time the wagon will see something that high performance but noisy isn't necessary. Thoughts? Opinions? Discuss.

I was hoping one of the millions of CAD operators that frequent this thread came across a solution.

Hawk HPS has always given me a good mix, and actually stops the first time pulling out onto the roadway when its super cold.

You can get them from Orilley's, Amazon, Summit Racing, whichever is cheapest.

I had HPS on the ms3 last season. And will have them at the beginning of this season. They were great at every autox and dd but I took them to Mid Ohio, with slicks I might add, and I had major brake fade after the back straight. I am probably just going to switch to HP+ as I have been told those are nice for a double duty pad.

I love my HPS for daily use.

Shut up white boy.

Nate, go with HPS pads. They're great pads for daily driving and spirited driving. They held up well at auto-x. I'll be swapping them on the Ford here sooner or later. Just make sure you get the right pads with the anti-rattle clips.

What top speeds were you reaching on that back straight? I was letting off at 135 and didn't experience any brake fade that same day you were there. Although, I had DBA 4000 T3 front rotors, Centric premium rear rotors, Carbotech AX6 front pads, and EBC Yellowstuff rear pads.

I need to replace all 4 rotors and pads very soon. I'm pretty sure my rear pads have no pad material left LOL. I need new rotors anyway so I don't care if the current ones get trashed. Plus, the rear brakes are barely used due to the MS3 being front-heavy. I'm getting new Carbotech AX6 front and rear pads for this year. I was thinking about painting my calipers since they're still the stock unpainted metal.

We have HPS on both of our 6's. Patrick, you need to go beyond the HP+'s at Mid-Ohio...either go up to the HTC-Blacks, Carbotechs or Cobalt Friction Pads.....

Not harsh, just the truth! This thread (and the other Ohio threads) are the only reasons that I come onto this forum anymore as well. There's no Miata information/talk on here haha.

This is my personal preference, but I'd consider something more aggressive. As you push the car more and more with more experience, it is going to be easy to overheat those pads with the extra grip that you have from the r-compound tires.

You don't have r-comps anymore do you? If that is the case then HP+ will be fine. But race tires need race pads.

Yeah, there is a pissed off venting thread.

**** y'all. I'll go there.

I started braking at 145, which may be the issue but still. I am going to switch to HP+ or maybe something more harsh. Its just if I want to spend the cash or not. I don't want to just buy front pads and rotors as then I feel like the car wouldn't like the huge difference in braking from front to rear. I'm not sure What I am going to get but I am waiting to buy anything extra till the car is running without problems first. Need her to be purring before that dyno day!

145 eh? God damn my cars are slow.

Do this...
