The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

funny you mentioned that. After about 3 years of owning the car, I stopped "poppin the hood" and just walked away to look at other cars.
I don't even remember all the crap that's been done to it so trying to recollect it for someone else is just painful.
It's stock, bitches! :D

LOL speaking of that, i had the hood down, Zoom-Zoom sun visor in the windshiled and really didnt care at the car show the other day hahaha... i only went to bulls*** with some people and parked in the show cause some money went to charity and the mazdaspeed pittsburgh guys wanted to take over the show (which we did) hahaha

I are confuzed... so am I a dipshit or a douchebag?

both!! :P

Well said, Phen. Owning a Mazdaspeed ______ or having X amount of parts/money in your car doesn't make you better than anyone else.

I've gotten so tired of the "list your mods" game at meets whenever someone asks me about the MS6 I just say it's stock. Don't get me wrong, I love my car. Or else I wouldn't mod it and dump a bunch of money into it. I just don't play the e-penis/ego games online or at meets.

Idk why I thought of this when you posted this Evan.

Yeah, I guess RT615K's aren't nearly sticky enough... Thoughts on what better to get?

BFGoodrich g-Force Rival
Dunlop Direzza ZII
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11A
Toyo Proxes R1R or Hankook Ventus RS-3

Those would be my choices, in that order of desirability.

Over where? I meant in general. Even on here. "Oh look at me, I have the most badass car in the world. I paid $25k for this amazing piece of machinery that can't be beat, no how, no way." bulls***. Don't get me wrong, the MS3, MS6, MSM, MSP are all great cars for what they are. A freaking quick and nimble compact (ish) hatch, a sporty, relatively powerful take on an already fun to drive sedan, a hairdresser's drop top with enough power for the average grandfather to put it into a ditch, and one of THE first big moves by a Japanese car company to take an established model and improve it in every way (except the engine itself). But let's face it, no matter how much any of us want to boast about our cars, there's always going to be something better. We've all dumped a good chunk of change into our cars because we love them. Some are quicker than others. Some handle better than others. Some look better than others. At the end of the day, there's always going to be something quicker, faster, better handling, and looking nicer that what we have, and sometimes they don't cost much more that what we've invested. The car scene these days is unfortunately full of a bunch of pretentious snot-nosed s**** with a superiority complex who have no grasp on reality. To take it one step further, those that get butthurt when relity smacks them in the face are even worse. It's an absolute shame what it's come to.

I'm sure everyone here can agree with me when I say that we are ridiculously lucky that we have such a good group of level headed folks here who are able to enjoy our cars and (in my case) enjoy hanging out with the people we've met even more.

Agree.

As a fellow moderator on this fine forum of ours... you've definitely seen your share of them. But yeah, I totally know what you mean.

yes, yes i have. speaking of which, the douchery around here has slowed down a ton recently

Right on. I like seeing the hoods popped on the unique cars. I left mine closed because its dirty and i have the same stuff as95% of the speeds there. Jake on the other hand has a beast with stuff you dont see, and Phen too with his BT MSM. I have no problem with that. Hell, Evan will tell you how dirty my wheels were and how ghetto my front plate is with the zip ties. Zero ***** given though...i like my car as it is...anf if anyone says it sucks, thats their opinion and im ok with that as long as they arent a d-bag about it.

I hardly ever go to meets so I don't have any of these problems haha!!!!

But in all seriousness, I go to hang out with you cool folks who happen to share a common interest. Seeing cool cars is just icing on the cake.

I'm a fan of the front plate mount. Pure win.
