The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I'm lucky. In Akron, people like to do 10 over most of the time.

That's the wetdream I had last night!
I was 5 min late to work this morning cause 2 cars (a green Kia & cream PT Cruiser) were bottlenecking it up I-75N in the middle and fast lane going 50 mph... I had to force myself to laugh so I didn't push the PT Cruiser's rear end out Cops style...

On the way home from work today, I was riding with my next door neighbor (we carpool because we work at the same place) and I think we averaged around 75 or 80. Everyone was bookin.

I-75S was beautiful on the way home... Much to my surprise. Still, there are a lot of people around here that don't understand the meaning of "passing lane".

I can't wait till I get the new car and just get up next to someone driving slow, let off the gas, and give them a nice "Pshhhhhhhh"

Has the new car been disclosed? Are we allowed to talk about it yet?

I dated a great girl who lives in DC for a year and drove 5 hours on the Penn Turnpike 76. That was some great driving, beautiful smooth roads, elevation changes and cops were rare. Pennsylvania drivers know to get out of the passing lane. Ohio drivers are the WORST! I think New York City drivers are my favorite; if you're not moving by the time that traffic light turns from red to green you will get honked at. And they don't mess around on the highways either.

Ya that would be nice. I've got a new header and mid-pipe in the mail right now so hopefully that will suffice for now. What kinda car you gettin?

agreed. Ohio drivers suck. New York drivers are great cause like you said, they don't **** around. I hate driving in OH. So many people that have absolutely no idea how to drive.

Yeah, it's been disclosed. I spoke with the seller today. The title office ****** up, and I may have to wait longer. It's starting to get annoying, but... patience wins out.

It's an 04 Mazdaspeed MX-5 w/ Flyin Miata Big Enchilada package installed.

Any one around NE ohio have any experience installing coilovers? I have a set of BC coilovers sitting here waiting to go on my ms3. Kris from krystms garage was suppose to help but I dunno. (help)

Yeah, I can help. I've done the suspension on my Protege 3x, I helped Krystm's garage do his springs, TrevsM3's springs, my buddy's coilovers on his STI...

Shall I continue?

And I've done 3 Civics and my P5 too, so if Stephen needs a hand I can help.

Spotted a black MSP in Toledo yesterday with a kit on it...I rolled up to her while getting off 75 in Toledo and she waved :) Just saying HI if you're on here!

There is no passing Lane...That is a Thing of the past.
Especially in Ohio.

The highways were built soo long ago that they cannot handle the volume of cars that commute around the bigger cities....If you were to treat the left lane as a passing lane....in a lot of areas that would leave only 1 or maybe two lanes for travel....
Not gonna happen....Far too many cars for that few of lanes....Three lanes packed is bad enough....Now imagine taking away one of them.

There is no Passing Lane I say.....You want a passing lane....Move to L.A.

Yeah, he's got a point. It is an old highway system that isn't cut out for the volume. In Akron, and Cleveland, they've been working on adding a 3rd lane (77 near Fairlawn) or a 4th lane (77 near Independence). Still kinda messy at times.

Ya, the project to widen I-275 has been going for a good 4 years and it will probly be another 3 before it's done I bet... At least it's providing jobs tho right?
And I understand that traffic is bulging on these antiquated highways, but when you're going the same speed (or slower) as the people in the middle lane and/or slow lane and there is PLENTY of room to get over, then you should do so. Because you are creating congestion on the highway. And although the left lane may not necesarily be the "passing lane" anymore, it is still the "fast lane". So if you go the speed limit, gtfo. (gtfo) (nana)

*And I am not talking about bumper to bumper/rush hour traffic. This pertains to "normal" driving conditions.
