The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I get letters wanting to buy my town and country I am still paying on it. But just wondering could somebody buy a bone stock protege and soup* up to be like a speed protege.

What are your guys thoughts on ceramic core vs metal core high flow cats?

Better flow with the metal core and it will hold up to higher temps than the typical ceramic core. I'm not convinced it's a huge difference but that said, I have the metal core on my Miata. :D

Yeah that's what I've been reading. I could care less about flow/power, the miata will make enough. Just wondering if they SOUND the same. That's the only reason I really want them, I don't think it will pass echeck lol. It's going to pretty much be straight piped (with resonators) and from what I've heard, cats with straight pipes sound loads better than no cats with straight pipes.

Edit: forgot to say the metal core are $77 more...

Eh, I don't think it's worth it for $77 more. I can't say anything about the sound. I replaced everything except the header when I did the cat.

But I am way cooler. Y'all just don't see it.
we could just call you Taters

Yes you can, or go with Evan's route of a KL v6. All you are really missing with going with a regular protege are:
The "body kit"
Interior
Turbo Kit & exhaust
LSD
ECU being tuned different
and fear of exploding engine or diff.

There's suspension & wheels too but easily the most changeable aspect

I decided to look at ford focuses (focii) for my daughter. Does anyone have experience with them?

^^^ What kind of car is that, Jon? It would be helpful if it was printed on the windshield...

Amber's was a peice of crap. My level of hate for her focus was higher than my hate for the monte carlo. I think '05 or '06 is when they started becoming a decent car besides the svt model.

My first car was a 2001 Ford Focus. It only had 80k miles one it when I got rid of it to get my MS3. It had numerous problems. I can't even remember them all, I think I blocked it out from my mind haha.

I don't believe you guys. All of the cars on craigslist are listed as running good. So are you saying I should look at something else?
