the new corporate buzzword: innovation

i do a good amount of research in my job and spend a lot of time reading business-tech articles, and i can't tell you how many time i see the word innovative or some form of it. so i've concluded it's the new thing that higher ups say that doesn't mean anything. zdnet has a webcast series where they talk to CIOs, most of their topics? innovation in your company http://video.zdnet.com/CIOSessions/ . every company now needs to be "innovative" and it's the thing to do. who else has heard the word "innovative" thrown around the company, particularly those who work in large corporations where things never really change?

oh, you actually got into that department? cool.. when I was there for one of my 3000 interviews from your company, they told us about that department.. you get to try out all the fun new stuff.

yea i'm in there now. it sounds like more fun than it is. i get to deal with bureaucracy a lot and try to convince business areas to try our ideas. in theory it's fun, in practice, it's only fun sometimes

I'd probably be pretty good at that.. If I could convince penny pinching nuns that they needed a firewall, I could probably pull that off.

lawyers are way worse than nuns. the business areas are usually pretty receptive to at least trying it. lawyers, on the other hand, aren't

what's the difference between a flounder and a lawyer?

one is a scum sucking bottom feeder, and the other one is a fish.

Thanks to the recent reorganization, content creation (in a manner unique to Silicon Graphics) impacts the enterprise customers.

Our third parties tell us that task-driven protocols work effectively. We have been looking into the red flag. In order to assure that the scenario closes the loop on the issue of the customer drop dead dates, we must be certain that object-oriented objectives interface with price-performance integration.
