The Moderately Low (Not Slammed) and Functional Thread

Just wait and see. Dan's current build is just going off the deep end. He's taken the go big or go home motto to heart I think! He was also the member I mentioned who sold off the corner carver rwd set up to focus on his current build out. Obviously he got sidetracked with the right hand drive 323 build he did recently. Dan's a source of pride for most of us in this chasey on the forums. :)

I'd say so. I've been following his build somewhat.

Just to keep this somewhat on topic: This is moderately low and definitely functional, right?

I consider my car to be on the edge of slammed but I got kicked out of the slammed thread because my jack points are 4" off the ground. It's hard to get a 3 low on stock equivalent tire sizes. If I went with smaller sidewalls I could easily pull another 1.5" but I would want a skid plate made before I try that. I think the best way to gauge lowness on different model cars would be to measure from the center cap to the edge of your fender. If I can pull another 1/4" in the front and rear I will be tucking some tire tread.

With 25mm spacer installed in the rear. The tire is maybe 10mm from the fender. I definitely need a good fender roll and some more negative camber in the rear. LOL @ the wear marks from a 5 minute drive down my driveway and back.

I guess I will throw my car on this list.

Not a fan of the sleepy eyes but it does look goodl very RX-7/240-ish. The MX-6/Probes should have been RWD...

That would be awesome, because then my 626 would be rwd, too! Ah well, it's still a great handling platform. The Probe was the benchmark of handling for some car magazine for the years that it was made.

CityRacer, you car is such an inspiration. MonoxideChild polluted 626.net with your pictures some time ago and I've been crazy about it since. I'd say your Probe is the most tastefully done one that I've seen. I hate it when people go way over top with body kits and junk, but I digress. I do totally agree about the pop-up lights and wrap around rear widows, though. It seems the only trademark of modern cars is big.

I don't think you understand this thread, mate. Honestly, I think your car is too low. Your suspension geometery is all out of whack being that low. This thread isn't for people who aren't "low enough" for the slammed thread. It's more for people that don't want to slam their car and use it for what it was meant, to be driven hard on streets and the track. I'm not bashing you or anything, and I welcome you. But you don't need to try to impress anyone in here with how low your car is. I think most people in here would prefer you to raise your car if anything. heh-heh. (drinks)

i always wondered how long until a thread like this appeared

you know they actually made a rwd 626..

Yes, I realize that they did back in the day, but a 2.0 MA engine with a carb and 75rwhp doesn't interest me that much. Would it be a good classic DD? Yup. Would it be a good fun weekend car? Nope. Unless you swap a 13B like a few people have...
