Boy...s*** is going to fly at Mazda Canada and my dealership...any news from u guys??

mine its at the dealer right now, i just hope they they care of that or else they are going to see me every week

I wish I could go every week...but their working hours here suck ass...9-5 all week...and 9-12 on Fridays...I WORK THOSE FU#$%@! HOURS!!!!!! doesn't make any sense...I usually have to go there on my lunch...about a 20 minute drive..drop off my car..get a courtesy car and go back after work...I HATE DEALERSHIPS!!!...my next transportation method will be a bike...maybe I can put a little motor on it.. :)

the cat came back...the very next day...the cat came back, we thought he was a goner...

I've been thinking about the Mazda Motorsports rear sway bars but this thread has put a halt to that idea for now.

Mine got more severe clunking noise after the replacement! It now happens even when it's warm.

And the windshield is still giving vibrating noise at high speed!

Contacted the service guy at the dealer but haven't heard back yet. Keep the group posted if you folks find out anything new.

URGENT ADVICE NEEDED - Links replacing bushing?

I talked to the mechanic at the mazda dealership. He suggested replacing the bushing with links, and has ordered some parts. Anyone knows what this means & whether I should let him continue the 'experiment'???

HELP!!!

Umm... I'm no mechanic either. Assuming you drive a MP3 like a lot of us, logic forces me to ask, why you would need a special replacement with "links" if everyone else can survive with their original style bushings? Unless you're experiencing a new problem few of us have yet to face?

The thing is that Cameleon3 had his bushings replaced three months ago and now he is finding problems with his replacement. I haven't had that much time on my car yet since I had the bushings replaced and lubed... also, now we're heading into summer. So, I'm not positive if my problem is 100% fixed until I get a chance to experience it under cold temperature this coming winter. :(

Thanks for the quick responses.

Strange thing happened these 2 days. It's warm & rainy, and the squeaky noise from the front & clunking noise from the back are hardly there. (I think very minor noise less than twice in 2 days.) This got me thinking whether it's just lube that I need ... I'll discuss more with the mechanic & keep you guys posted.

Allen: I don't think it's a matter of 'surviving'. The clunk basically got a lot worse the week after I got my bushings replaced. The original set gave noise in the cold from time to time. The new ones gave loud noise many more times even when it's warm.

clunk

Hey man,

I have the same problem.......got my bushings replaced and now the clunk is back. I called Mazda canada and they said that there were aware of the problem and are looking for a fix. They told me in the mean time to just keep getting the bushings replaced. I have called them 2-3 times. It would really help if we could get a bunch of us to call them so they could stop just telling us that they are looking for a fix. Here I am driving a brand new car and it sounds like a clunker in the cold..........or when I hit any bumps at all.

Clunk fixed ... almost

I got my links replaced on Sat. The mechanic said it is definitely not the problem with the bushing. It's the link that hold things in place. He replaced both front & rear, and the clunk / squeak are now gone.

Well ... almost ... They are still there if I go through speed bumps too fast. (I'm not talking about speeding through at normal driving speed, but already with some slowing down.) The mechanic took a drive with me through the mall, and he said it is possible the springs installed are not 'perfected' (i.e. not thoroughly tested). He has had the same problem with his modded mustang forever. He will talk to others to see if there are any other thing they can do.

In any case, I'm now happy with much of the noise gone. Let's see how long this can last.
