The Big 3 of Wiring

that's the frame to motor ground on the passenger side...you also need to find the one fromt he batt's neg. terminal to the engine block. On the MSP there's a factory one that does that...should be there on yours as well!

I had one that came from the driver side fender to the negative terminal. and I had the other one from the terminal to the bracket under that huge ass three way wire loom. are those the ones that you are talking about? not really asking for my self.. just trying to help this feller out. I think I shoudl be straight cause I did the same kit as the one 1st sells. I just made it cause I had the wire already. and I needed different terminal then the ones he had in teh ktis.

Oh yeah.. and I have a ES.. and it was the same as the how to on the MSP jsut to clear up soem stuff.

thought so.. well.. those are in the how to also. I dont think bones is going to do the work. he siad that he was lazy. those are the ones you have to take teh battery out and the air box.

Bones if you want to fix those then you wil have to see the how to. it is a very good how to. jsut check her out. it will be most the help that you need.

I still get dimming after doing all that. but I think my car starts better. she is hard to start in teh cold, but starts good so far. I have only been going to class twice, but it was very cold today here in IN. I am going ot switch the grounds in the trunk maybe. I will see.

good luck bones

keep in mind this is all stock at the moment but,
i have a ground wire coming off of my negative terminal that is only about 5 or 6 inches long and grounded on top of my driver side strut tower. from that strut tower connection another stock ground wire runs off downward and toward the center of the car under my battery and from there i have no idea where it goes b/c i can't find it after it goes under the battery. i think i could find it if i got under the car.

i thought that engine block to ground meant there was a stock wire going from the engine block to a point on the chassis. i didn't know the battery was even involved in that part of the "big 3"

it will work better if you upgrade the stock wires. which there are two off the battery as you seen. adn there is the one on the passenget side of the car. it would then work even better if you add soem wires. all up to you. yoru ride.

you could not see the one under teh battery cause it goes in a wire loom. and goes down below the battery adn air box. atleast on teh 2 liters.

well maybe it's different between the 2.0 and the 1.6, but i don't consider it two wires coming off of the negative terminal, b/c it's one wire from the terminal to the strut tower, then at that junction, another ground wire comes off of the strut tower and goes away to somewhere else, i don't really know what the other end is connected to. i don't consider that second wire to be a ground from the battery b/c it's not connected directly to the battery, it's simply connected to a bolt on the strut tower that is also connected to the negative battery terminal.

does your 2.0 physically have two wires coming directly from the negative battery terminal to a ground on the body?

It's part of the total battery ground. If you want, though, you can follow that second wire, and just bring it straight from wherever else it goes (i would assume the engine block ground), right to the battery. And the wire that goes from the battery to the strut tower...just upgrade that.

it is all the same node. It does not matter where it goes battery or brace. all the same thing. I think on the 2 liters it goes to the negative terminal (prob cause it was closer by 6 inchs) I just did it mon night, they both go to the negative terminal. but trust me they are the same thing. same node therefore it does not make a difference. if the wire is touching a wire that goes to the same place it is the same thing.

Just do as servo said... and just follow the wire and see where it goes. it may require removing the battery since you said it goes under the battery. if you find it and replace it. I would jsut put it on teh negative terminal of the battery. and run the one form the brace to the battery. just use one of the terminals from partsexpress. they are pretty cheap.
