I am new to the whole turbo charged engine deal so was lookin for some help. I have onley owned handas' in the past and as u all probly know it is very easy to make them fast and not as technical as a turbo engine. Anyways my car will be mostly a DD and just lookin to put for the moment ab 300-320 hp. I dont want to go crazy with a thousend mods I just want to keep it simple and safe for my car. I am totally tunning dumb and was wondering if I put my mods on in the following order wld I have to tune or buy a fuel pump or any thing els crazy like that? so I was ganna go with the CP-e cai, then put a tbe, followed by the cork sport DP so I dont throw any cells. if you think I shld do this in diff order or use other mods pls,pls let me know. I wld also like to achive a nice mean sound hints all the bolt ons.

thanks in advance!!!!

Turboback exhaust includes a downpipe. It is the entire exhaust system. Are you talking 300 bhp or whp? If your talking about whp then your going to need some pretty significant mods. Also you should be running a bypass valve on recirculation rather than a blow off valve.

For 300whp you will be looking at probably 2500 bucks at the least.

For 300 you will need pretty much ever bolt on, an upgraded intercooler, boost controller, most likely a fuel pump, a tune, and perhaps an upgraded turbo.

The stock speed 3 has about 260ish bhp but only 225ish whp.

lol no coyfish, somethings are right yeah..

for 300 whp, a cai, upgraded TMIC or a FMIC swap, turbo back exhaust (which includes downpipe), boost controller, and a tune to 18 lbs would get you right around 300 whp if not more. im around 275 with everything except the 18lbs and no tune.

again, turboback exhaust includes downpipe, so when you name both of them, its redundant. You could get away with no tune, but you wont be making 300 hp. probably like 275 or soemthing.

sorry ab doin that again. well I guess 287whp wld be nice any way. do you all think cp-e has the best quality mods for our cars?

I was wrong how ?

Sorry bro but you wont break 300 whp safely unless you upgrade the turbo and prob the fuel pump.

You could prob get around 275ish with everything you guys listed, exhaust mani, the new intake mani (if it comes out), and a good tune.

Just check youtube. Plenty of speeds getting dyno'd with all the mods you guys listed. Only one over 300 I found was those with new turbos (those were mps6's too).

Its one thing to say yeah adding this intake will give me 20 whp because its on the website, but its another to dyno your car to see your results.

CP-E is a very good company i have there tbe very nice quality nice finish sounds aggresive kinda pricey but worth it also get the downpipe w/highflow cat doesnt throw cel.cp-e cai and tbe should put u at around 270ish enuff power 2smoke lots of cars!

what other company can be highly trusted? corksport? need products that dont throw any cels. also what company wld be the same as mugen is for the civic?

mazdas dont have their own (mazda only) tuner. Mazdaspeed is factory performance parts.

corksport makes parts, but not in the same way that mugen does for hondas.

he means how mugen is a honda specific tuning company. who can rebuild an entire car out of mugen only parts. (body, engine, suspension, wheels, etc)

mazda unfortunately doesnt have that

got it lol , and yea when it comes to that , us mazdaspeed owners are(headshake

GOOD LUCK :D lol

With all the high flowing mods you will need to manage boost. The larger intercoolers ( some) a freer flowing intake, and a larger diameter Turbo back exhaust will create a boost condition under full throttle that is above what the stock ECU will allow. Most of the members who strive for more performance have a system that will allow you to use the extra boost created by all these boltons. When the K turbo has less restriction from boltons it wants to just take off! Try one piece at a time to increase performance. And do not forget handling

I just wanted to say thanks to all that took the time to put there input in on this thread. u all helped me alot w/ ur info and I will have more ?s 4 u all later!

Thanks!(dance)

you are basically trying to do the same thing i am. i want around 275 whp, and to get my 1/4's in the mid 13's. what im trying to add is...
--test pipe
--TMIC
--rear MM
--plus the injen CAI i have already.

does anyone think this will put me where i want? or anything else i should think about? i want to stay away from mods that cant be taken out easily... aka TBE or turbo upgrades... thanks

CAI, intercooler, and catback you will not need tuning, also consider doing motor mount upgrade. some guys ran into problems after upgrading DP with higher rpms (not enough fuel?) so getting a dp means you should invest in tuning and fuel pump to be on safe side(not having to deal with bulls***) and get full potential from the mods. that should put you clsoe to 300whp (if thats your goal)

With those mods you should be in the mid 13's with good driving. Your going to need a lot more than that for 275 whp however. For the basic bolt ons you can still get a new bpv and shifter upgrades (short shifter and/or shifter bushings). Bushings worth the 30 bucks. SS is ok . . . pain to install. You could also get a boost guage, boost contoller, and/or some sort of tune like the cobb ap. Only way to really bump the whp in our cars is downpipe + intercooler + new turbo.
