The 2nd MS6 Build-a-Beast in the country!!!

jcgemt2003, I was thinking about doing that. How about a couple of specs on that fabbed up TIP. Like material and size.

BOT....

SKY, I see it! But still are you runing the stock TIP? Did it open up some room for a "fabbed up" TIP?

Thanks,

Y

no, it is the atp inlet pipe. it fits with the cp-e battery kit.

Check this out guys. I ran into a guy with a 1999 gtr with only 2700 km on the odometer. This car is iconic. The new gtr is a technological marvel, but this one is far more special. Enjoy.

I can get you a pic if you would like. Its a piece of alumimum that I had my little bro fab for me. Its probably about 16" with a 90degree bend at the inlet. I had it powder coated black. When my car is done you will see that I have powder coated alot of my s*** in black. (shocked)

wow such a rare sight to see one of those in the U.S. good luck with the dyno im hoping to see some good numbers.

OK...skyline whats the word? woosh just made 367 on stock internals. AFR were a little lean at the tailpipe but damnit if you aint hittn 400whp Ill s***.

Sounds great and thanx for the mini specs. I know this is a restriction, but I'm not sure if I should wait for something else or make my own like you or go with the ATP piece. Not enough info to make a decision yet.

Thank you,

Y

well I guess no news isn't good news
if he had good news it would have been posted up long already

still waiting to see a "built short block" car speed 3 or 6 actually run correctly

Sorry guys, I was out of town this weekend. My dyno appointment got bumped because I couldn't hold consistent boost. When hooking up a regulator, the atp wastegate acuator opened up fully at 23 psi so I ordered a lower pressure acuator yesterday from atp. I will have that installed this friday. I'll keep you guys posted. Nice job whooosh on your dyno. Do keep in mind that dynojets read at least 40hp higher than mustang dynos. Just food for thought.

It's a consistent upswing depending on HP. For instance, a boosted Supra putting down 900 whp would probably read 80 whp less on the mustang Dyno, from what I have read. Nonetheless, some strong cars you guys are building. Good work. (headbang)

I understand that but Philly was the closest dyno for me and still had to drive 1.5 hours
xotic was closest but was bought out by verocious and they are 2.5 hours away
even after driving to Philly, I was on the rollers within 20 minutes of arrival
whatever the corrections are for the dyno jet vs mustang vs whatever are fine...I understand those things
next time I'll let the car cool down and push it a little now that I have 1 session under my belt
my dyno was baseline bro

there are plenty of them. we've seen one run incorrectly and we know conclusively it had nothing to do with the block.

I knew I could get you to post with that comment(spin)

I'm not blaming PG as the cause but unless you have a real tuner, the lower C/R isn't going to work (referring to DISI MZR)

I'd love to be proved wrong, seriously

i suppose Jon's car running on youtube and his car running perfect right now, stock ECU no tuning, doesn't count in some way? the only problem he encountered was when he altered his MAF housing. seriously, the compression ratio is fine. there is no reason why direct injection will not work with a lower compression ratio. we have over a dozen motors in the field now and only chriscecc had issues. he happened to be the poster boy for everything that could go wrong with a motor build of any kind. he spent his money with people who took advantage of him and ruined that build, and thats simple fact.

there are DI vw that use lower compression pistons for engine builds. why the MZR DISI should be any different - please let someone explain that. everyone says the ECU is advanced enough to compensate for bigger turbos, intakes, exhausts, downpipes, increased boost, manifolds, intercoolers but its too stupid to compensate for a drop of a half point lower compression? illogical.

if the car idles fine, accelerates fine, pulls hard and has solid AFRs, EGTs and no irregularities, i would say that counts as a car running fine. if i am missing a qualification please let me know where. if i had any feedback from the 12+ people who have these motors that would leave me to think the compression ratio was a problem, i would pull that piston from production immediately. i have kept in touch with some of these people and not one of them have a complaint as to how the car runs or to its drivability.

by 'real tuner' do you mean hardware/software or person with skills? or both?

in any event, we are building the motor on jason's 6 and will aim to prove you wrong soon :) i never did get to congratulate you on your own dyno. we still have more torque though ;)

time to chime in. :D

I've got about 2000miles on my car since the build (completed may 8th), its been just over a month. How fun! There are little things here and there that I need to do to make the car run perfectly, but those aren't related to the built bottom end, such as:

the catch can and EGR delete, which will be done hopefully by the end of next week (thanks whoosh for the block off plate).

Anyways. there isn't a thing wrong with mi carro, and when I talk to people, like yesterday, doing 2 pump installs on the road about 30 miles away, I'm sure to let them know that the car is awesome, that its got the Arias Pistons and Pauter Rods, Arias being 8.8:1 instead of 9.5:1, and I haven't had any problems related to the pistons. That is just over a half a point of compression lost... hardly anything.

Let me check off from this list :D

check check check check check check and..... CHECK!

Thankfully I drive a spaceship with 4 gauges and a DashHawk, which equates to 10000 gauges.

I've talked to Randy several times, Josh and Jordan at CP-E, Ron, Ken, Zack, Jason, Brandon, Alan, John, etc etc etc etc.... they all ask, and I all tell them the truth. its all greenlights over here with the arias/pauter combo. I made the right choice, and would've gone with lower compression even if the stock compression ratio was available from PG or Arias or whoever. No withdrawals here.

My threads will have dynos and more videos to come... but its pooring outside now. I'll film my way to campus today. I drive about 100miles a day with the car. very reliable, very fun.
