yes.. I had the silver MP3 style protege.. and introduced myself as Joe. I was wearing a white shirt that said quicksilver on it and jeans. Not that anyone would notice my car next to Steves MP3, but it was there. :)

Sorry fam, can't remember. I have to take a look at some of the pics perhaps. s*** I can't remember what I had for breakfast today. Sad.

By law, I'm required to attend (stooges)...I'll probably be there Saturday, but don't plan on getting into any of the restaurants and/or "clubs" after the street gets cleared out....it should be good times, even if you're not into the "Greek thing". Chicago's known for the neighborhoods and their respective street fests; this is just one of them.

However, if she/you two haven't been down there yet, it's not like Astoria...

Saturday will be cool, but Sunday's are nuts too. www.greekchicago.com usually is good for keeping up to date with what's going on in the "scene".

Thanks for the info, D. I think we'll be going Saturday as well. Eleni is not into large crowds, so is there a time you recommend that will not be as nuts? I know, I know - how can you be expected to predict this? (uhm) We haven't been to Greektown yet, so it's something to look forward to.

Oh, BTW...where to park? I'm a bit concerned about Marley (my MX-5) as I've noticed some scratches as of late.

Hey folks-

Perhaps I owe all of you an apology. Though I was a bit offended by JBreed's reaction/comments, he had some valid points. Here I am a newcomer to this forum and immediately asking for advice, sharing personal stories, et al. I apologize in advance if I bored any of you (as this was certainly NOT my intention; but rather, just seeking advice). You haven't met me and yet several of you took the time to write and offer your support. It helps to get different perspectives from different people. Just know that it was helpful and is appreciated.

Michael

Mr. Law do not worry about that clown. Cars come second to real life situations.

Mr.Law i think i have found a site that might help you more then this car forum, you seem to need advice on a weekly basis that has little or nothing to do with your "mazda". These people will help you more then any one here can, its----- www.forum.psychlinks.ca hope you find the constant help you require. ) (help)

Dude, you have nothing to apologize for, seek advice wherever you choose.

It's really none of my business, like I said, "I was venting", take it with a grain of salt as you should most comments in life, especially in an online car forum.

As some people on here are too young to have good advice for serious life situations anyway.(no offense intended, seriously)

Take Care...Jim

or just come to www.mazdateam.com, where we are happy to dispense advice and could care less if its car related or not

Hey Michael, no worries. Im not a fan of crowds either (its why I avoid the Taste of Chicago and other gazillion person events not to mention the traffic, et al).

Personally, when I go to this particular fest, I park west of Greektown, so I usually head west on Adams to about Aberdeen (last year I parked on freakin Racine) and hiked it.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=adams+and+peoria,+chicago,+il&spn=0.011580,0.019855&hl=en. Youll end up parking on the street, but thats the way of it the neighborhood isnt too bad (some high end condos going up but its the city, but you know how that is. Alternatively, you can park east of 94 towards Wacker, etc.

But, seeing that youve got it made and are in the City (downtown) and to avoid parking woes with Marley (funny, my Pro5 is Mindy :D), you can take the L (I think the blue line drops you right there off I-290 and Halsted/UIC stop its a short walk from the station: Downtown CTA map: http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/maps/F2005D.html )from downtown or even hop a cab.

As for time of day, you can always go during the late afternoon/early evening (that way, you can maybe enjoy some coffee at Artopolis or even eat at a restaurant) and still have time afterwards to chill elsewhere. Its a madhouse after about 7 pm (its the last Greek fest really of the summer, so all the bad kids are still in town before heading off to school) until about may 11 pm when the shut it down and people all try to cram into the clubs/bars/restaurants, etc. A lot of it is S&M (stand and model), so be sure to dress appropriately you wouldnt want the Greeks of Chicago to criticize you two on first glance

Thanks, man. Will you have Mindy with? I'd like to check her out. And likewise, you can check out Marley. :D Maybe we can hook up? What time do you plan on going? It's funny, but I ALWAYS run late; Eleni is on time, often early in most cases. She makes fun of me and says that I'm on "Greek time". "Better late than never," I say. If you bring your girl, maybe we can all hang out and have a drink together. (drinks)
