so i just tried to install my test pipe and was foiled by the stupid rusted bolts on the stock one. i soaked them in wd40 but still wouldnt budge.

im going to put the car up on my friends lift tomorrow and heat them. thatll show em!

Be careful you're not trying to remove the end that has the nut welded on ... can't recall which end it is but that mistake's been made before.

no i was trying the right ends. just so much rust i actually had to scrape it off to get the wrench/sockets on. heating them up today

I didn't have to face the rust you have, but I did have better luck with a better penetrant than wd40. PB Blaster helped me out a lot.

Anyway good luck with the job, the heat should definitely change it's mind.

just got back from my buddies and the heat defin showed those nuts whos boss! new test pipe gives it a little deeper note and seat of my pants dyno picked a little something up, althought that might just be my imagination haha.

I'd love to see a numbers side by side comparison of a Test Pipe set up vs a Cat'd DP set up. I have a test pipe waiting to be installed and have been hemming and hawing between that and buying a cat'd DP.

My buddy who just put his DP on resorted to the heat treatment as well. Nothing more frustrating then not being able to get bolts off. What tp did you go with and how was the sound difference? Any butt dyno increase?

i went with the street unit 2.5' bought used from mister six. the sound is most noticeable when down shifting, cause my sri over powers the tp with its huge turbineish sound lol. butt dyno noticed a little more get up and go too.

fantastic, nothing beats the sound of air being sucked in. But making the exhaust a little louder won't be a bad thing either.

i agree 100% thats why im in the motions on trying to get a catback. make the car finally sound as fast as it is

Got my SU TP on there today. Was a little shaky at the beginning trying to line everything up with the Magna CBE, wasn't looking so hot. But we finally got it mated up nice, not bad at all.

I thought you guys said this thing was going to be loud. (shocked) I was thinkin loud like straight dumps out a 383 stroker, instead I got loud like a mildy agitated Camry. (omg)

Sound is nice, gives more low tone and some growl but not ridiculous at all.
