Test Drive

I just did a test drive of one of the msp's that are in the "wonderful" city of indianapolis. Wow it was a blast. The guy told me the car will cost 18500 or something like that after a "rebait." I called him back and asked to see if the price could be dropped a little bit. Hopefully he can drop it and then when I go back I can talk it down a little more. He said it will be about 366 a month without any DP. I hope I can get it down to about 17.5k or so. I have to see if my grandma will let me use her credit line though.

Well thanks for listening to me ramble. I really hope that I can get this car. It is the titanium grey. Well i have some parents to convince so I will talk to you guys later.

That monthly payment is almost exactly what I'm paying a month, but I put a $2500 down payment on the car.

I bought it back when they were still selling @ sticker

ok I don't feel as bad right now :-) I just need to convice the parents when they get home in a few hours. I love college and not having school on tuesdays. :-)

Heh...my senior year I had tuesdays and fridays off fall semester, and tuesdays, wednesdays, and fridays off spring semester :) Only took 12 credits my last semester...that was all that I needed to graduate.

Needless to say, many of those days off were spent drunk lol

I put a zero down payment and am paying $298 / month on my MSP '03.5. Financed at 3.99%. Maybe because it was the last silver one in Miami. They also had it in their lot for more than 6 months. I got a surprisingly good deal.

Negotiating is an art, that builds naturally with age. Look forward to improve on it.

Parents said NO to the 366 a month. I wish i had had credit cards earlier to build up some credit. I just havn't had anything credit wise long enough to build up anything good. Looks like I am going to miss my chance with the msp. Wow it was nice though :-( . My parents are just worried about me keeping a steady job just incase i lose it. Insurence would be bad for me too. Well I am going to start saving my money up and maybe sometime in the summer I can have enough in an account to pursued them to let me do it. That is if the car is still there. :-(

Sorry to hear that...but I gotta admit.. $366 a month while in college + insurance would be tough.

I'm out of college and work a steady job, and the $370 a a month I pay is tough sometimes

I only pay 290 a month on my 2003 black mica... you must have a high % rate since you are younger.

Yeah got a 5.9% rate. I also paid more than a lot of people ($19500 + tax, title, license, and a bunch other fees...ended up being about $21K out the door. Oh and I remember I put down $2K not $2500.

My interest rate was 5.X%..which is a pretty good rate if you ask me for a 22 year old buying his first car with not quite perfect credit (no late payments or delinquent accounts, but high balances on my credit cards)

credit card cedit aint worth much to banks when u apply for loans...i have had credit card accounts since i was 16 and base don that i have awesome credit...but many of the banks would go below 8% for me becuase i havent had a long term credit (car, house, aprtment, etc) ended up having to get my mom to co-sign just to get 4% apr......ill jus refiance jus tin my name this summer :) good luck to ya

Lol, it must be nice. Now I need to hit that lottery for the billions that it is going for. oh well i just set up a savings account to go towards a car once I build up a thousand or two. Who knows, maybe there will be some still out there or someone will want to sell thier's. Guess it is time to tighten the belt and stare at posters all day Lol.

L8r,
Brad

I wish I could have 0% financing. I was happy enough to be 19 and get the loan with no co-sign at 5%... I about died when they said that. I overpay on my payment so I end up paying 450$ a month.. My payment is really a little under 400$...
