Ah, I love Tesla coils. There's a few neat YouTube videos out there where people hook those things up to keyboards, multiple ground points, etc. to make some cool light shows.
 
If you watch the Documentary "who killed the electric car?", the guy that came up with the battery technology for the Saturn EV1 could have been considered a pioneer but the Gov't and the oil companies stomped all over that one.
