Tesla is not as well known because he liked to claim things he could not prove. Many of his designs have failed when rebuilt to his specifications and no one really saw them work in the first place. Of course he has that major stuff that did, don't get me wrong, but he was kind of a kook.

Ah, I love Tesla coils. There's a few neat YouTube videos out there where people hook those things up to keyboards, multiple ground points, etc. to make some cool light shows.
