So... I looked and looked and couldn't find ANYTHING on how to do this
it is so frustrating! I found out how to do it on a newer version Mazda but that doesn't reallt help me much. So, does anyone know how to take off the TOP grill only on a 2002 Mazda (deadhorse
I have worked on this for a little bit now and can't figure it out. I have taken off the two bolts on the side as well as the snap in plugs etc. What is holding it to the main bumper? HELP!

OK. There are two big phillips head screws on the top corners of the grille. Take those 2 out. Then on the top of the grille were the little compartments are, there are a few snap in taps that you have to take out. I think after that, you should be able to pull it out. Im not to sure how many all together because I only have the two big phillips screws holding mine in since its been coming on and off latley. Just wait for a few more people to reply to make it clearer since Im not too sure if thats all of them.

take the 2 screws off at the top of the grill..After that it's just a pull of up and towards you.

Thanks guys I will see if that works. I just didn't want to pull too hard and break something.
PS. Since this has to do with "APPEARANCE" the post kind of does belong here.

welcome! yea its just the two screws and then yank upwards .. what InFlames meant was this "appearance" section is for the Mazda 5 and it belongs in the 3rd gen protege appearance section. easy mistake to make though! again good luck and welcome :)

yeah, lift up slightly and pull until you think you're going to break something... lol it will come off. i was in the same situation when i replaced my suck-ass stock horn.

I totally got the dumb thing off and will posting the new painted pics soon!
Thanks everyone, I really did think I was going to break something lol
