Synchronic= SURGE?!? How?!

SO i installed the synchronic today, and besides that it took a good part of like 4 hours to install, it surges. When I rev the car in neutral, it sounds fine, but under boost and when driving, i get a flutter sound. Im wondering if the inlet has anything to do with it? i installed it correctly, as per the instructions on the synapse website, but something is amiss. I have to take a video later on today to show you guys. Here Is a pic though...

do you have any sound/audio clips of the surge? Can it be adjusted at all to lessen any surge your getting? are you sure it's not flutter and it's true compressor surge? A good bov setup will flutter under light/partial boost

it sounds like surge once, and a flutter every other time. my camera is dead, but a video will be posted, idk man, this bov is kinda iffy...

Thanks for the replies, but it sounds as if thew valve is taking too long to open. it might have something to do with the waste gate tee, but i have no idea, im gonna mess with it today. Ill make sure to take a video also, so stay tuned.

Flutter is when you're partially lifting off the throttle under medium to hard loads and the BPV does exactly how it sounds, it flutters to leak the boost out.

Compressor surge is when you're WOT and between shifts, the excess boost is not being recirculated fast enough so the turbine starts to rotate backwards, causing a chattering sound that we used to think sounded so cool when we drove a car that didn't have a turbo and wished it did so it could make that noise......

I am well aware of the cool sounding, yet dreaded compressor surge...
i am just wondering why it would happen on a valve that won a sema best new product award and is supposed to eliminate the surge all together.

Avideo will be posted shortly...

I get the same flutter sound with my HKS i just bought. Happens at low rpm shifting and basic driving. As someone mentioned above that a "GOOD" valve should do that to leake out air under low shifting. I am affraid of damaging my turbo and never got this flutter with my greddy type-s, But I assume a little flutter and low rpm should be good eh?

If you're getting the flutter at high end shifting that would be bad I assume with the turbo spinning faster it would cause more damage if the air isn't coming out all the way. Oh yes and I TO have an inlet, not sure if that piece makes a difference on how the non-adjustable valves work, aka synapse and the HKS

Turns out i was missing my damn o-ring for the flange. Zipped around town and found one that wasn't a perfect fit, but works. After puttin it in, the soun ds was better, but not gone. I called synapse and they said to loosen the preset screw on the back, messed around with it, and it seems to be reacting better, but still some flutter in the low rpms. Sounds great over 5k though! GUess this valve needs some adjustments in order to work on this car. ANy one else with this valve experience this? NO video today btw, camera is still dead.

its holding boost fine, def. feel a difference, but i will contact the manufacturer for the factory o-ring. I need to get boost gauge in order to be sure though. So update when i do.
