Sweet...

I'm rather excited. Don't take this the wrong way, just I'm happy. Let me tell you my little story.

I am the type of person that enjoys something different than the normal. I was looking at Jettas, Imprezas, and Sentras originally for my first car. When I saw the MP3 I immediately thought "Hey, not many people are gonna have one of those. Maybe I'd get one of those..". After being told by the salesman that the blue MP3 I had been looking at would be the only blue MP3 and there would be a yellow one coming I was overly extatic. Only one of this type of car in my county or some 300,000 odd large population?
So I pick it up then and there. I was told the yellow one should be coming in sooner or later, so I wasn't too bothered.
Eventually while making one of my monthly stops at the local Mazda dealership to talk to the guys there I notice another blue MP3. I was overly mad. Sure, 1 more in a population that large wouldn't be a big deal I understand, but hell, the car isn't exactly fast and I understood by getting it I'd have to sacrifice speed over uniqueness. So I come to be a little upset over this ordeal.
For 2 weeks the blue MP3 sits inside the showroom.
This past thursday they get the yellow one. I make it a point that friday afternoon I'll go and see it.
To my surprise the yellow one is sold and will be gone in a month. The blue one was also sold. However, it's going to a city that is about 6 hours away. I was happy.
I just felt like telling that little story of my cool experiance so far with my MP3. I love the car even though I get burnt by my friend's cars (except the kid that drives a protege ES hehe), but hey, sooner or later we should be able to find parts. There is that magazine with parts coming out next year. Apparently there are going to be new ECUs for proteges all in all. Ones that apparently add a decent bit of boost. Nothing confirmed yet. But we can hope. We can always hope.

celica gt-s(automatic sadly enough)
gen 2 rx-7(although we really haven't raced)
golf with chip, intake, exhaust
1.8t jetta with chip
acord v-6 with intake exhaust

those are the my friend's cars. the only ones i 'run with'

Not only the celica gt-s, but I think our MP3 won't stand much chance even against the Celica GT. ( our car is heavy)

Sad....

Dood no whay you got beat by a Celica GT-S Auto cuz my bro has it and i smock his ass of the line then he can keep up later, he has an auto but he races good he red lines that s*** every time, just make shure when you race youre car you shift at like 7k, 6.9k you can burn most autos if you can drive good ;)

6.9 ? Dude, it redline at 6.5, you sure you want to shift at 6.9 ? Are you sure you even can shift that high, isn't there an electric cutout?

Yes you can shift that high, you have to kind a when you racing :D the fule cut of point is at like 7k or at 7.1k so if youre racing get as close as you can to it and you be good :D just my opinion tho :p

Shifting High doesn't mean always better, this car starting losing power after 6000rpm.

My friend has a Celica GT. I was actually interested in one when buying a Civic Si was becoming less of a reality. I'm glad I didn't buy it. Theres just something about that car that I don't like. I think its kind of ugly. But the GT-S looks much better with its effects and bigger wheels.

As for beating a GT, yeah we're about 300lbs heavier than a Celica GT, but we also have about 20 more lbs of torque. I haven't raced my friend yet, but I think the MP3 could easily beat it after taking it for a spin.

Before I ordered my MP3, I was considering the GT and Si(Ex in US) too. Same price range, but I am happy that I got the MP3.

The Celica GT has a value timing system, but we don't. I have to say that the MP3 is slow as hell in 0-60. The Celica GT is not a fast car, but still better than mine.(Sadly)
