FYI

whiteline - an australian company big into suspension - has just made a front sway bar for the P5 etc.

24mm at the front.

there is also a 20mm bar for the rear and a 20-22mm adjustable bar.

info not on their site yet, but it's www.whiteline.com.au

the front bar code is BMF50
rear (not adjustable) is BFR59
rear (adjustable) is BFR59Z

i asked them and they said there was not enough soon to make it adjustable

The stock front sway with the RB rear (Which is 20mm) seems to be a really good combo, for me, once I rotated the strut mounts to push the caster as far foreward as I could.

I have been looking into bars since suspension is my next major project and I like whiteline, the RB rear w/ stock front and I like the Intrax front and rear set from www.apexr1.com time to decide soon

I can't imagine the fronts are easy to install.

front is a complete prick, but doable. rear is a peice of cake.

and you'll notice from sabrelli's pic that the rear bar is 3 way adjustable. i have emailed the guy we were dealing with at whiteline to see if that means 20mm, 21mm and 22mm adjustments or something different (but guessing 20,21,22 is right)

got a reply from the whiteline guy. they dont measure it's apparent thickness when you move away from the softest setting. he said "soft, medium and hard".

soft is definately 20mm, will see if we can work out the others

I couldn't figure out where in the catalog our car is listed. Is it called something different in AUS? Where are you guy getting information, the entire product catalog or the website?

yeah it's not on their website yet, but it's definately being made. i think they just havent updated it for a while

and the p5 is called a 323 astina SP20 or 323 protege SP20 here.

I think I found it. In the strut tower brace section the 323 astina is called the BJ astina. Go to the sway bar section and the BJ2 323 has a 20mm rear and a 24mm front.

Is that it?

I think it's right because the years are right... 94-98 (BA) 1st gens 98-01 (BJ) 2nd gens 01-03 (BJ2) 3rd gens

94-98 is actually the 2nd gens. we got more models than you guys. BJ and BJII are 3rd gens. just make sure you get BJII stuff because there was a slight adjustment in suspension for the BJII

I have the Whiteline rear bar and love it. The car rotates like a top. It was really easy to install, except be prepared to cut your old end links off (which is true of any rear sway bar install on our cars) I only had to cut 1. Other than that it is truly a bolt on part that hasn't clunked once for me. I have Subaru friends who have the older "wedgewood blue' bars after a winter they have rusted worse than the stock ones, but still work the same. I hope the silver paint is more durable. I live in Canada so everything rusts anyway.

Good point. I paid $180 CDN. for the non adjustable bar through http://www.pdm-racing.com out of B.C. They wanted $252 CDN. for the adjustable bar. Global Perfromance Parts wanted $187 U.S. for the adjustable bar. Neither company had it in stock so you have to wait until they place their monthly orders from Australia or pay extra to have it shipped directly from Australia to you. I waited 8 weeks for mine but at the time Whiteline was moving factories or something and were extra busy.

gee that's pretty good when you compair it to the AWR bar! (19mm adjustable = $202.50, 21.5mm adjustable = $212.50)

guys, you'll probably find as well that the front bar is the price os the non-adjustable bar too.
