Has anyone of the P5 or ES users putted on thicker sway bars and where did you got it and how does it feels?

Im thinking of getting the awr sway bar but havent figured it out that will i get the 19mm or 21 mm one!

And where could i get the front sway bar??

Thanks

antisway bar...

you may want to talk to CaptainKRM, he installed one and let me drive his. and i tell you, it handles very well! i took a corner real hard and it didnt screech tires or anything. mine on the other hand did! he and his bro put it on and from what i gather from them it wasnt easy. It handles like a slot car! srmotorsports.com has it. i recomend the 19mm! beleive me it is worth it i want one too!

Actualy it wasnt all that bad,
our kit just didnt come with directions thats all
so the first time we put it on it was upside down, but we corrected that REALLY fast,

if we didnt f*** it up it would have only took 2 hours to put on

but it was pretty much bolt on

and yeah, we have it on the "softer" setting and it handels awsome, I really want to see what its like on the stiffer one
then the car wouldnt lean at all :D

So 19mm would be better or 21mm?

I have stronger and lowered springs also.

And who sells the front one ... havent seen that anywhere?

And which would be better ... awr or sr motorsports?

that depends...

i would imagine if your car is lowered you might be better off with the 21mm, so your tires dont hit your body. i havent seen if anybody has ones for the front. if however you do get the one for the front you mihgt as well take that to the shop. but like Aricjm15 said the back was bolt on. 21 or 19 it doesnt really matter. its all up to you man!

For those that put the 19mm on, what was your impression on sound. I still hear those rubber bushings when I take a big bump. I put lots of greese, but the noise is still there.

When we put ours on we used a special type of greese that you use when you put an engine block together, its a synthetic compound I think, it looks like a silver metalic goo, it works great, we cant hear a thing from the bushings

The only front bar that I know of is the one from the MP3 which you can get at a dealership.

As for the rear bar, from what I've heard, the AWR pieces are very nice, and work extremely well with the stock front bar.

Just an FYI, in order to change out the front bar, you might have to drop the subframe underneath the car to get at it.

Can you tell us what the name of this grease is? My rear sway bar need's to re-lubed every other week or it makes mad noise. Also, if anyone is going to buy this rear 19mm sway bar, buy it from AWR Racing. They have it cheaper than anyone else, and it's the same bar. Sorry SR Motorsports, nothing personal. :D

Thank You.

ok the stuff is made by Permatex
part #133k or somthing like that or item #80078
but it is "ANTI-SEIZE LUBRICANT" the "advanced formula"

19 vs. 21 mm

keep in mind that the thicker rear bar will make the rear of your car more likely to slide -- something to keep in mind when thinking of jumping from stock to 21 and keeping the rest of the susp stock. i know my friends with subarus all found that a too-thick rear bar made the car skittish and tough to drive.

The 21mm bar is adjustable, and is supposed to be made to compliment the stock front bar. There should be no real issue putting a larger on the rear.

Don't forget, that these sway bars are probably hollow, that makes a difference. A 21mm solid bar acts differently than a hollow 21mm bar.

Are the AWR and SR motorsports ones solid or hollow???

And I have lowered my car, should i get the 21mm on then?

What about these:

They are manufactured by Mazda according to the site. They sell both, rear and front for $399.99

The front bar is 25mm, while the rear is 20mm.

Is that a good setting for a P5 with stock springs and shocks?

Those are the sway bars from the MP3, you will want to reinforce the sturt mount for the bars. So sotck struts might not be the best option.

Personally, the front bar is a pain in the arse to change out, so I would get the AWR 21.5mm rear sway bar and go wih that for now. Changing out the rear bar is supposed to make a dramatic difference in the handling of the car. And from what I have heard, the AWR piece is supposed to work well with the stock front bar.

If you really want to change both the front and rear bars, I would go with the front bar from the Mazdaspeed Protege, it is a 27mm bar, and matched with the 20mm rear you would get slightly better handling than the 25mm.
