I was on i-95 north comin to newyork, ive had this SuV tailgaiting me from behind for awhile now. I was in the left lane and when he finally had a chance , he gunned in on the rightlade fullspeed ! this is from 55mph guys,

i silently slipped it on 3rd full force, but this TRAILBRAZER just inched me away "!!!! wtf. all the way to 110
he was up by a car and passed me on the left lane. Come to realize he has the TRAILBRAZER SS

did my research and found this

Similar performance. Driver error or you downshifted too late since he was already in full acceleration. One car length is nothing.
Lucky for you guys no cops around.

lucky indeed, i have a cobra radar, it saves me most of the time, im pretty sure he had a radar aswell. Ayways, its been awhile since i had this much adrenaline rushin in me.

Let me tell you, that muffler was growlin though, if anything the only mod i saw was his rims lol. who knows, maybe he had other mods.

But for sho, it maybe the fact i downshifted too late,oh well, gotta take a beating sumtimes ya know ? It just suck because you'll always have that feeling of defeat, deep down in yo stomach ;-)

I'm pretty sure if i had a CAI, i would have kept up with this monster, oh well, only time will tell, maybe ill see him next time ;-)

ps. This was in new jersey, exit 100 ??? going to NY

I thought Chevy governed all their vehicles at 100mph? Maybe not on the SS modles. Thats just raw V8 power there, but I still don't see how your MS3 got beat? I mean my buddy has a Silverado (not SS) with the 5.7 V8 and I keep up with him.

Sure the SUV is a heavier car, of course, but you're looking at about 140hp more than the stock MS3.

It's pretty good that you kept up as you did, he had double the engine size that you did!

The Trailblazer SS has similar 0-60 and 1/4 mile times as the Mazdaspeed 3 but the Mazdaspeed 3 will go up to almost 155 mph where the Trailblazer SS is governed at 130 mph.

http://www.caranddriver.com/minitest/10002/chevrolet-trailblazer-ss.html

"Heinricy tested a two-wheel-drive version that achieved 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, the quarter-mile in 13.9 seconds, and 0.80 g on the skidpad. Following a brief drive in a similar SS, we have no reason to doubt his sums. Top speed is governed to 130 mph, probably sufficient for a 4600-pound SUV."

This link states that the Chevy goes from 0-100 mph in 14.6 seconds.

http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/10848/2006-jeep-grand-cherokee-srt8.html

The Jeep passes 100 mph in 12.0 seconds, 2.6 seconds sooner than the Chevy.

This link states that the Mazdaspeed 3 goes from 0-100 mph in 13.6 seconds which should beat the 14.6 of the Chevy.

You probably just downshifted too late or maybe the Trailblazer had some mods and was hunting for a victim.

wow, thx for all that resources, thats one mean suv, with all that drag times you guys pulled out. NOW ITS SAFE TO SAY, i've been a victim of a modded trailblazer. it's all good, i knew sooner or later, im gonna get my butt spanked since iv've been abusing all the hondas around my area hehe.

on a note, i drove this car and shifted the best i can, enough said, the SUV was faster :-)

You see, maybe he was as surprised as you. He probably thought he was gona pass you at a crazy rate of speed.

Sure the SUV is a heavier car, of course, but you're looking at about 140hp more than the stock MS3.

It's pretty good that you kept up as you did, he had double the engine size that you did!

140hp is alot, and it's more the fact that truck has way more torque. The SS is no joke, it can move.

I know a bit about GM LSX based vehicles. Everything you can do to a Corvette, Camaro, Firebird, New GTO, you can do to the trailblazer SS. The engine is the same LS2 based engine (with a couple differences because of the truck based platform) used in the Corvette and 2005 and 2006 GTO.

owners a GIRL !!!

Holy s*** , this has to be the car, same rims !!!!!! and its a she !!!!
i got spanked by a GIRL !!!! wtf

"Regular readers will recall that the Neon-based SRT4 we tested in April 2004 posted better numbers: 5.3 seconds to 60, the quarter in 13.9 at 103. Youll also recall that a Mazdaspeed 3 [Power Toys, May 2007] ran to 60 mph in 5.4 and through the quarter in 14 flat at 101. We should note here that at 3233 pounds the Caliber is 249 pounds heavier than that Neon-based SRT4 and 48 pounds heavier than the Mazdaspeed. Mass is never a plus for acceleration, nor does it help braking. The SRT4s brakes dont fade, but 175-foot stops from 70 mph cant be called impressive. "

c and D , its the verdict damnit !

Was it a black SS with NJ plates and a Freehold FD sticker on the back? If so, you just got toasted by a sc'd SS.
