Suspension problems

Hey everyone!
Just bought my first mazdaspeed Protege yesterday, and i must say, this thing is awesome! However i have a question... I was driving over some speedbumps today quite slowly, and there was a lot of noise... ie. squeeking coming from the rear of the car. I asked a friend of mine about it and he seems to think the rear struts are blown... Im going to take it back to have it looked at but i think id be better off going in knowing what the problem might be.

they are nortorious for clunking in the rear. its usually the sway bar bushings or the endlinks. try there first.

Your sway bar bushings are probably dry. I'd swap them out for some with a grease fitting. I picked up Energy Suspension bushings from AutoZone off the shelf for $20. They needed a little modification, but took care of the klunk and the squeaky rear

If you are lazy, just spray some wd-40 onto the two swaybar bushings and the squeeking will be gone. It drives me nuts as well! I just don't feel like replacing it now, 'if its not broke dont fix it' goes through my head.
