Suspension finally done (56K warning)
Well this summer I finally had a chance to do some major mods to my car. For this year I decided to do my suspension. My sig. shows what I've done and I am happy with it.
Lessons I've learned:
1) After 5 winters everything is hell to take off, even with air tools since some bolts just sheared off. Therefore my next project car will be for summer use only
2) End-links are a PITA...I underestimated it, both rear ones had to be replaced, due to rusted threads and nuts that bent like butter even with the proper sockets.
Impressions:
The combination of Eibachs, Tokicos and Progress anti-roll bar is amazing. I've been taking corners like I haven't done before. I must say it's as fun as driving my bro's WRX. He says my car feels stiffer, I'd say it just feels more tossable.
Questions:
After the spring install I had no noises at all and I was damn happy. A week later I installed my Progress anti-roll bar. Everything was torqued down to service manual specs, but now I may have that dreaded clunk. The thing is though, it's so random and so rare that I don't know if it's normal or what? It tends to happen, on occasion when I go up my driveway and only in the rear. But over any other bump or even really rough roads there's absolutely no noise and the suspension takes it like a champ. (and downtown Toronto roads are pretty bad considering we've got cablecar tracks). Should I be concerned?
Oh enjoy the pics the first 4 are before and after (2 before then 2 after)
