so I wanna get 18s on my msp.

I think when I get them the wheel gap on the front will really bother me so I am trying to consider lowering options...factors here are that I kinda wanna be back at stock ride height for winter (living in new england is a bastid) and I dont wanna sacrafice the MSP handling that i paid for

I like the ride height of spool springs (and love the price tag), and dont want anything lower, but it would really get expensive to have my springs swapped out in the spring and winter.

Coilovers would be nice but they are pricey......if I was to go to coilover route what brand should I go with, how much will they run me (roughly) and do mazda dealers raise a big stink about bushing replacements when you have tinkered with the suspension?

thanks for the help

Hmm, the weather can get preety nasty where you live right? If so, I would definatley think about just buying springs before you consider buying the a full coilover setup like the JIC's or Teins. I'm not sure about how the JIC's will hold up to the elements, but I do know that Teins are very rust prone. All models of the Teins can get pretty bad if neglected, all except for the Type Flex which unfortunately will never be produced for the Protege. What are your plans for your MSP? Track racing, auto x, show etc. If you're thinking of auto xing, definately get the JIC's, but if you're going for show and you're never going to race, then the Skunk2's or Ground Controls are fine. Hell, even the Tein S-Tech spring (yes they are made for the Protege Sedan) will be perfect for daily driving.
