lol.....can you say tax return!!!!! I suggest everone go out and spend their refund on one of these HDTV televisions.....worth every penny as long as you get HDTV broadcasts through your satellite/cable provider. Screw the home improvement projects.....get a TV :)

LOWJ: i've always found the HD broadcasts of a live event are so much better than the recorded shows.. although don't get me wrong, the recorded shows in HD are still stunning, but the live events are just jaw-dropping.

is that all it costs? Hell, I might just do that then........bad thing is I've become addicted to that Discovery HD Theater channel.

Bah, I'm stuck at work. 10.5 hours down, 5.5 hours to go...

But at least I get to watch my Patriots win, albeit on a 20" tv halfway across the room

If your TV doesn't have a built in decoder (most don't) you'll need a set top box which typically cost 400-600 bones, in addition to the $5 antenna.

good point, my mitsubishi has the integrated HD receiver..

I too watched ut iun HD on my Mits 65" and through BrightHouse Cable. The picture was just absolutely stunning. Daytona 500 in 2 weeks in HD and 5.1!! Woo-hoo!

exactly what i was thinking chris... it cost u more than $5 because of the price increase on the set for the built in decoder...

i have a 61" hitachi and i love HD... fball games are crystal clear!!

i pay like $7 a month for the HD cable package and box rental. (i think , ill have to double check)

Yep, i've had my Toshiba 42H82 and HD satellite since the spring. There's really nothing like it, and football in HD is just unreal (okay maybe ultrareal).

Can't wait until next season, or at least March Madness (which there should also be a lot of in HD!)

oh yeah, and the nhl all star weekend is on in HD this weekend!

Me too. . .I'm watching Discovery HD all the time now. . .they need more shows. . .but underwater and "aerial" shots (not to be confused with areola)! But that wasn't bad on HD either. . .

50" HD plasma on this end. . .gotta love it. . .
