Sunroof

Spicy I meant my old cars all had factory installed sun/moon roofs and they all rattled to hell. But they were all Hondas though...Oh and one Nissan.

Holy cow, that really is one sorry looking MSP that Dr. Sound had. Could you imagine living through something like that??? I wouldn't know what to say except thank heavens for safety features. One day they gotta invent the instant foam thingy like they had in the movie Demolition Man. I wish I had more time to cruise these forums and find those threads.

Update...

I will not be getting a sun(moon)roof afterall. After discussing it with a tech at my dealer's service department I was convinced it was a bad idea. The guy owns a MSP himself and is very knowledgble about them. He's been very accomodating with all the minor issues this car came with too. (hesitation, clunk, squeak, coolant leak) I was pretty set on getting the sunroof too but I like this car way too much and spent too much cash on it to risk screwing it up.

What did he tell you?
probably that they have to cut through this (see pic) bar in the roof:

moonroofs can pop up? how does that work? i assume that they dont close before they go backwards.

I just read this, this is a cooooool thread. :) Cant someone make a smaller removable-type sunroof that doesn't need the bar tampered with?

Then you'd just get that little piece of glass that pops out, like on my friend's 240.*

*Which he broke the 3rd day he had his car because he tried opening it one handed and broke the handle.

sunroofs own-- id love to put 1 in if i had the money. if i get sum more cash next summer and still havent hit my 50k warranty limit... i do believe ill be 'roofed.

i spoke to my dealer. Seems that I can have them put in an aftermarket unit and still retain my warranty. They also said they can more than likely add the cost of it to the amount I am already financing off. Sounds good to me! Besides, all these mazdaspeeds and only 1 roll over, Im sure Ill be fine

Besides, I am often in need of proper ventilation during the drive home from work everyday. lol

read some more.....i wasnt the only one to roll over.

and rollover doesnt mean anything, last titanium to crash didnt roll over, but if he had a sunroof he'd most likely be dead.
hitting a pole sideways will crash your roof......getting t-boned by an SUV will crash your roof.....

LOL that reminds me of the car I had in high school. I was driving along at 35 mph or so when a friend decided to remove the sunroof and just barely got a grasp of it before it slid off my roof into a million pieces. I was like 'DON'T...LET...GO...!'
