Sunglasses Holder

The little plastic knob that holds the sunglasses holder closed, broke off on me! It'll cost almost $200 in part & repair to replace because they need to replace the whole unit and can't just replace the door....

I can live without the holder - but can't figure out if there's a way to get the door off. Anyone have this happen and/or have any advice?

One of my pairs of sunglasses doesn't fit, and the other is a tight squeeze. Plus, I really have to press it hard to release the door which flexes the rest of the housing and makes it seem really flimsy and cheap.

Mazda could have done a better job on this part for sure. As HOLOHOLO suggests, you can use velcro tape to keep it shut; woudl look a lot better than taking it off entirely.
