Sun. Sept. 25th Massachusetts All Cars Meet!

Late, but better later than never. Someone suggested I post here because the forum is an active one, so here I am.

Alright, this will most likely be the last meet for me this season, so hopefully a lot of people will come. Details are below and spread the word.

Car Enthusiast Meet (All cars)
Sunday September 25, 2005 11AM - whenever
Hopkinton State Park
Admission is $5.
Bring lots of food and drinks for a BBQ.

Hopkinton State Park

There's already alot of interest for this meet, so come on out if you can. You'll see, Acura TLs, TSXs, RSXs, Integras, Hondas, RX-8s, 350Zs, Evos, Subarus, Scions, Nissans, etc...

I added a link in the NEPOC section (New England Protege Owner's Club) for you. We can usually muster up a small gang of people from the area.

Is there enough parking for this many people to show up without warning? The NEPOC and Mazda6 guys practically filled one of their parking lots...I can't imagine what would happen if 5-10 cars from each of these clubs arrived.

Classic.

I'm sure that the cars at this meet will NOT be parked all slanty-like.

Kato sitting in my car still cracks me up.

How many people were at that meet?

Well...I hope the park doesn't have too many visitors that day. It should be a cool day but who knows. I'm assuming if they kick us out, that they'd have to refund us our money, but lets hope that doesn't happen or we'll have a huge caravan to another location. I'm thinking we'll be ok. People will show up sporatically and leave sporatically to even out I think.

There was somewhere between 15-25 cars and we filled half of a small lot. I don't know if there are larger lots.

You may want to make a game plan based on this map:
http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/trails/Hopkinton-Detail.gif

As you can see on Google Maps, none of the parking lots are very big:

We were at the northern most parking area at the intersection of Main Rd. and Birch St. on the map.

Well, actually, it looks like there is a big lot by the main beach off of Howe St.

Thanks for the maps! I'll look into a good meeting spot and try to update the threads soon.

Thanks for the heads up. I just left a message on their machine and I'll hopefully hear from them soon. I guess I should start figuring out alternative spot huh...

But if it all works out, here's the details:

OK...

here we go.

You'll see on the map that I marked off 4 areas, but I've decided that Area 2 is the best choice and if things get bad, we can always move to Area 1 and people will be able to find us since we're right at the entrance to Area 2. Try to get there at 11am

Area 1-

Great due to the fact that the majority of the lots inside the park can only hold about 25 cars. this area has two lots directly across from each other with grilling areas at each lot. Both lots combined will hold about 50-60 cars.

Area 2-
This is what you were asking about Will. This site is great it's large, but not enough for 75+ cars. I would say max 60 or 65 cars. The site is on the water and has sand next to it if you want to go lay in the sun for a bit. It also has two grills[not in the best shape] to BBQ on.

I just spoke with a park guy and there's only reservations for one of the lots. Area 2 and Area 1 are fine, so we're all set. See you guys on Sunday! Should be a great meet. Here's a list of people coming from the 350Z forum:

35Ounces
Lotus Man
ZChickMA
Leemik
Sully
350ZDreamer9
CelticPride2
Atmosphere (+friend)
DriftinZ
Edogg218

We've only got 3 confirmations (including myself). A boosted Protege5, an RX8, and a regular ole Protege5 (me). There may be a few more but I can't get anyone else to commit.

VirtualBong, do you have people planning to bring charcole and lighter fluid?

Well, I was going to bring a bag of charcoal, lighter fluid and grill cleaning stuff. If you already have it, bring it along just in case.

Oh, bring whatever food and drinks you want to too. 3 confs ain't bad, but hopefully we'll have more people show up.

Great meet guys and I'm glad people could make it!

I'll be setting up another one in early Spring when the park reopens. So watch out, it'll be bigger and better!

Pics can be found here.

And we also made the Hopkinton News <scroll down>
