Summer 08 meet?

i was just thinking about this problem of being kicked out. How would we feel about going to the Kiltie if all else fails, I know we'll be welcome there. It isn't a bad drive from delafield, might actually be kinda fun.

and they wear nice uniforms too! *wink*

So uh..still plannin on going. It seems like every1 knos every1 I feel like the noob 1 out. Jw am I gonna be the only chick there?

I don't know anyone either... I'm pretty much a noob here too, and my gf will be coming. With a little luck she'll be rockin a 3 by then, but either way I'm making her come.

Usually are a few girlfriends if not other car enthusiasts in the pure form. don't worry about people knowing everyone. We only half remember each other becaues we only do the meets about once a year if that!

kiltie kinda sounds like a good idea havnt been there since before i could drive...hey wagon backer i swear i see around at least once a week...i mean afterall we do live in waukehsa

we have a kilt in madison too... great place :) the park shouldn't be an issue for getting kicked out. It's actually when we try to take pictures that we usually have the most problems. As long as everyone drives mature and there isn't engine revving there usually is no issue at all. Some meets though people insist on trying to be "cool" and thats when things go south! But this group usually doesn't have any issue. When we got kicked out of Home Depot last year it was hysterical because the parking lot was 80% empty and we just had the cars in a line with lights on and we were taking pictures and talking and the manager came out and asked us to leave. Was really funny as we were JUST parked and doing NOTHING else. Just the bad image the import crowd has I guess. So hopefully event by event we can prove that import people are NOT like that!

Steve

Which mitsubishi though? i had a Lancer (non-evo) for a while.. but yes, every specific car has it's own crowd.. and honestly even each region for each car has it's own crowd. The earlier days the Chicago Protege's were a little crazy.. but are now more mellow.. the Wisconsin group though has always been really pretty good overall though which is great!

You might have seen me. I'm spoiler-less now and on custom rims, so i'm not that easy to pick out as a MSP.. I'd have noticed a P5 w/ MSP rims if I'd seen it so apparently I'm not payin enough attn if i have seen you.

I'll be bringing some brake pads I need to get rid of, maybe some filled engine mounts (that I'll seel with no core!), and a bunch of stickers too... I may even bring some tools etc so we can do installs and touch up work for people if need be and we are there long enough.

So does the street view show grills and stuff then or not?

I'll try to call tomorrow to reserve a shelter and a volleyball court

Later,

Steve

Ok... reserved a shelter for Saturday from 1-5 at fish hatchery park. They allow grilling but they recommend we bring our own. I'll bring a little Weber. We'll have access to the volleyball court and an open field for frisbee or football

We'll need to sort out food... I think bring your own meat plus a dish to pass/share (fruit, desserts, chips, supplies, the usual picnic stuff).

Also, we should double check our roster too...

who is all in for sure?

Hey guys, looks like I checked back here just in time. I'll be there and possibly bringing a friend with a 6. I was wondering when this meet was gonna happen and it looks like this weekend. Good choice on location too. Don't worry about anything at the park. No one is really around there. There are two gas stations on the corner. If you get off of 94 at HWY C head north, at the second stop sign (by the gas station) turn left. You'll see the hatchery right behind the gas station there. The cops in the area will probably stop in to see whats going on, but they are all generally pretty nice and wont hassle us. Anyways, let we know what to bring. I'll be checking this thread throughout the week.

BTW, on another note. There are some nice roads in that area too. We can all do a cruise or whatever. The best ride is up to Holy Hill. Maybe a hour round trip or so, depending on route and how many roads you hit up.

question for you guys... with the shelter do you guys think 1-5 is long enough for being there or do you want longer? Reason I ask is the half day is 45 bucks and the full day is 70... and I don't want to pay more than we would really need. I'm just covering it through NSN....

I would think 1-5 would be plenty time. If not, there are plenty of parks in the area. One right down the street in fact..
