Suggestions...Again.

:
2002 Mazda Protege5
Just got my baby back. The body shop painted the top grill white like I asked em too, and they put in MSP headlights instead of the boring P5 ones. So, now my question to you is what next? The DGM Lip is being saved up for, and I'm going to get the windows tinted soon as well. Cool. Now tell me what ya think would look sweet.

Paint the front Mazda emblem black or gunmetal to go with the headlights, and do something with the orange sidemarkers.....cheap and easy mods. Maybe even smoke your fog lights to go with the headlights as well.

I would post pics of my smoked orange sidemarkers/black headlights, but my boyfriend is at NOPI with the digicam. :)

I'm all about the clean look. so being that you asked:

- drop it

- top grill looks clean, I'd do the bottom to match

- I'd remove the mazda symbol from the top grill if there was nothing but mesh behind it

- remove the side molding

- remove the amber in the headlights and the corners

- and of course wheels (17s or 18s) would look awesome, silver or white IMO

looking good so far ;)

Dropping it is a little far off due to financial reasons. I'm shaving the side moldings soon. I don't know if I can take the amber off the headlights(Any MSP guys know?) and I want to have a shop shave off the corners. The Mazda emblem has kind of like a base behind it, so I can't take it off, but should I paint it white or black? And wheels are also very far away. But painted calipers are soon to come.

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm gathering ideas in my head...

BTW witchdoktor I think your dual exhuast set up looks really awesome. Never thought I'd see it on a Protege, but you really pulled it off well.

thanx. I had a feeling the emblem had a support behind it. if it were to be painted I'd go with white as it would keep it cleaner than any other color. I think the amber can be taken out of the headlights, though not 100%. People are doing it themselves with the how-to. Blacked out amberless headlights would look awesome IMO. You can check out the how-to or check out ebay. They're around 125 bucks.

I would get window tint really light blue, or another really light color like the one this pic, He lives around the corner from me. It look better like that on a white car instead of dark black. And as for the mazda symbol, I would have left it chrome, if you want I still have mine I will mail it to ya if you want. The side moldings are the first thing I took off. (doesnt cost anything ither) Buy some clear tail lights. (from e-bay cheap) I have a set of progress spings to lower the car 1.75-2 inches if you want those too. Just pay for shipping (50)
Just send a PM.

Russ.

Honestly, I'am not digging the grille at all I would suggest getting one from dgmotorsports and putting in the stock mesh in it or getting a different grille altoghether. Losing the amber in the headlights and getting some clear ones in there and also getting some clear side markers; but nice job so far.

^ if you go that route replace the bulbs with silver titanium bulbs. They're clear bulbs but light up amber. keeps it looking clean and legal at the same time.
