Suby killer...

I know it is only 271hp stock but easily can be boosted to 320 with a few mods. Plus the looks...the looks are (laugh)

I think the EVO 7 looked much better. Too bad they had to compromise the front end to meet the bumper impact laws.

EVO VIII doesn't do it for me... Suby WRX STi? Yeah that does it for me :). I like it A LOT better than the current WRX which I think looks hideous.

And of course, an MP3 with the Spool turbo system? Thats my top choice :D.

Chris

Well if you look closely and do a comparison the EVO VIII does kind of look like our MP3, heck our cars were built on the Rally car look. We just don't have AWD,LSD-ACD(well it is form of ACD) and a twinscroll turbo,...that's all.

i think the suby is a much nicer car too...the finish of the cabin is just a lot better...actually a host family i stayed with in england said that they thought the subarus were just better cars overall as far as performance and asthetics, that was way before the wrx was over here

yea, if it were up to me I would rather have a wrx. I think a little has to do with the fact that Im not a big fan of dsm, but its mainly because of those STUPID F*CKING TAIL LIGHTS!!!!

What?

You don't like Altezza's?:D
I got to give it up to the new redesigned SUBEY, they finally gave some style to the bug eyed look...It does look prettier with the pink, gold and blue:D
I'm not that pleased with the front fascia of the EVO8 but that can be changed as soon as I get it. Like the 7 better myself. The V was bold and aggressive but I didn't quite like the interior. But then again who buys these cars for looks only....?

I am looking at the 2004 release STI which they do mention 300hp/300torque but conveniently leave out curb weight and gearing. Plus don't be too hopeful of all the features listed to make it here to the US....remember this clause at the bottom of the page....

Subaru of America, Inc. reserves the right to change or discontinue at any time, without notice, prices, colors, materials, equipment, accessories, specifications, models and packages without incurring any obligation to make the same or similar changes on vehicles previously sold. I could live with the front end, its just that ugly center with the mitsubishi diamonds that kill it for me.

after waiting this long and purposely creating a huge splash with he STi announcement, there is NO WAY Subaru will change the specs on the USDM STi now. they went out of their way to send the info the the NASIOC.com website to make sure Sube enthusiasts got it right, and purposely waited until Mitsu was locked into their EVO config to annouce what they were planning, neatly one-upping Mitsu. the publicity hit Subaru would have to endure would be too big for them to back out substantially now. so count on the 2.5T, 6 speed, DCCD, Brembos, all that. "Changing specs" also accounts for things such as changing tire suppliers or color options...and it's not like the gearing is going to be Viper-tall or the curb weight 4000 lbs+. Someone on NASIOC.com will dig up the info eventually.

I personally like the EVO...I plan on getting one shortly. I dont really care for the Scooby. I think the interiors are pretty cheap in build materials and I dont like the look of it either. The exterior redo is better tho. The EVO will be a much better performer and be easier to mod. I want one. I'm gettin one!!

What, specifically, makes you think it will be a 'much better performer'? How will it be easier to mod, with existing DSM parts for the eclipse engine that it shares?

EVO parts are just as plentiful as Subaru parts. The EVO has had a market for years now and in other countries, the EVO has a larger following than the DSM's have here. Just thought I'd enlighten you on that. :p
