Okay....where should I start. I guess about last year sometime I had some body work done on my car at the dealer that I bought my car from, and while it was there, some 'insider' stole my head unit and sub. No matter cuz I made those monkeys pay replace each unit at their expense cuz they left my car unlocked. And get this...they said "We leave all cars unlocked so vandals dont have to break the windows to get in the cars." YES! he said this in front of the officer making the report also. Anyway they replaced my heat unit and sub and all the wiring, which they claim they NEVER touched, but there in my trunk when I picked my car up was the old wiring bundled up.
So my sub keeps shorting out since the install. Seems strange but it only seems to short out going through the gears and going around corners. I have checked EVERY damn connection in the car, and I cant find ANY short. So I take it back to the dealer and they say I have definately caused damage to my head unit because of a pinched wire coming from a 'Pizo' (sp?) tweater that I added to the front speakers in the door. I dont buy it! They had my car for 7 hrs and said they could not replicate the short. So I told one of the monkeys to get in the damn car so I could make the s*** happen. As SOON as I put the car in reverse...BAM my sub goes out. He says "well all we can do is check your connections" Of course I say F*CK THAT! So I take my car to another dealer and they replace the sub. Still shorting. They have another head unit on order but I suspect that it wont solve the problem. I figure its in the wiring, but I swear I cant find a short. It's ONLY the sub shorting in and out. Anyone else experiencing this problem? PLEASE, anyone help! I NEED MY BUMP!
My possible shorting source observations:
-Short in Wiring (Pinching of wires, grounding)
-Low Battery Power
-Head Unit shorting out by shifting around in pocket
Does these make any sense? Please let me know your thoughts. All will be entertained and greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray
